Adobe CS6 on sale today, Creative Cloud coming May 11th

22

Creative Cloud distribution platform ? May 11th. The option gives subscribers access to all of Adobe?s professional tools for a $49.99 monthly fee.

CS6 includes revisions to all of Adobe?s Creative Suite apps, from Photoshop to After Effects, and as usual the company is offering a variety of packages and price points for people in different industries ? ranging from $699 for a single Photoshop license, to $2599 for the 16-app Master Collection. If you?ve been using the CS6 beta up until now, it?s probably a good idea to spend the cash soon if you don't want to lose your apps; Adobe has already stopped offering the beta for download, and we?re expecting it to draw to a close any day now.

I see Adobe are still performing daylight robbery; I'd love to know how they manage to convert $2599 USD to ?2667 with other similar currency "conversions" for other European countries. That's around ?1000 more.

With prices like that I won't be upgrading....

They want $949 for an upgrade from CS4. They probably justify it by saying they had that money grab version 5.5, so I'm "3 versions behind"

They had more reasonable prices when I upgraded from CS-> CS2 - CS4. I'll be skipping out on this one.

Pirate Bay here I come. Honestly, how can they justify the British cost?

Simple economics, they have to import the data in to the UK... (or many other countries for that matter)

Clearing that much data through customs isn't cheap!

Creative Cloud is live, all the apps are there, couple of let downs;

- the touch apps are not free, i don't know why i assumed they were since it would be impossible to do this through the app store .. but if you purchase 3 apps you get a month free, which is nice.

- the desktop app, which i believe is a dropbox like folder on your PC/Mac isn't available yet which is one of the things i was looking forward to.

Just downloaded the Application Manager. Seems if you downloaded any of the trial software from Adobe, such as the Master Collection CS6, the program will recognize this and thus you don't have to redownload. The "TRYOUT" will simply be converted into the full version.

damn, i just uninstalled the trial version before proceeding [whilst also uninstalling my pirated copies, and Little Snitch] ... i'm happy to be legal now though.

    • Payday TWO!! Is 13 years old man I feel old - I remember trying it out and if I did not know I would say 5-6 years ago or something
    • Payday 2 engine upgrade adds 64-bit and DX11 support, drastically shrinks install size by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Payday 2, the most popular entry in the heisting game franchise, is getting a surprising update after all these years. This is slated to be a complete engine upgrade that will enhance almost every aspect of the 13-year-old title, targeting performance, loading times, file size, rendering backend, and more. Developer Sidetrack Games is planning a beta to test out the new version ahead of the full public launch. The development team today revealed that the long-awaited upgrade to the 64-bit architecture is happening with this Diesel 3.0 engine update. By letting the game use more ram than 4GB, it is said to improve stability and compatibility on most hardware. It should also help modders in the long term with implementing larger changes too. "While many of the changes are made on the backend and not everything will be visible to you guys because it is a massive rewrite of the entire codebase, there will be a lot of things that you can look forward to," Sidetrack explained. Payday 2 will also hop over from DirectX 9 to 11. Instead of visual improvements, this is slated to reduce the amount of VRAM used by the title, letting more lower-end hardware access the title and run it better. Since these changes would require a complete redownload of the game anyway, Sidetrack says it has revamped "the game's packaging and bundling system." This should reduce the installation size from 86GB to 32GB. "So, now it's time to finally move the game to your SSDs," added the studio. The Payday 2 Diesel Engine 3.0 update is entering open beta on June 30 for Steam users. No console release plans were announced today. Sidetrack Games says it has been working on this complete rewrite of the codebase for the last nine months. While these changes should break most mods, the studio encouraged modders to use the beta period to repair their creations with support from the development team.
