replacing the eset menubar icon in OSX?

I have tried using Gimp to modify the nod 32 menubar icon so it's black and white, but when I do so, nod 32 itself wont load. I have saved it to png format which it was before the modification. I named it to tray_green.png which it is supposed to be. Any help please as to why its causing the program not to load?
