Great... I'd rather go to a big pool than the ocean any day. Not very happy about continuing to get sand in my shorts while tryin to swim in waves.

I wonder how much it costs in USD to stay there and check out this pool.... what other things are there to do in the area? I'd love to go Geod hunting in a few caves nearby if they have them.

They probably need their own powerplant to run the pool filters and pumps for that thing. Also the amount of salt or chlorine needed for it must be crazy.

Would think they use salt since it would be replenished all the time with the ocean being right here. People getting in and out with the sand right there would probably track a lot into it.

San Alfonso del Mar - Chile

If the ocean isn't suitable for swimming, why not put a giant pool on the beach? That's what they did at San Alfonso del Mar resort in Algarrobo, Chile. The decision was made not because of sharks, but because the water was too cold for visitors to enjoy. The pool is a kilometre long and 35 metres deep making it the biggest and deepest pool in the world. Water is pumped in from the ocean and filtered, so it's clean, but still salty. You can even sail small boats and kayak in the pool.

Money couldve been put to better use to feed the poor in that country rather than cater to tourists...

This pool will generate more revenue than the cost of building which means your statement is actually false. The people would be fed for a while and then when the money runs out, no food anymore. The revenue would be better spent on this, not the investment.

If you are really that worried about the poor, why don't you stop paying for your internet and use that much to feed the poor? No? Then get off your high horse. People will use their money for whatever they want because, you know, its their money.

I can not read Spanish very well, but it looks like a one bedroom apartment is 85000 CLP which is about $167 USD for a day. This is the rental page It also appears that the most expensive room goes for about $256 USD Also the resorts page is here

    • The site is pretty sparse on features / tech specs. Can I plug it into a PC/hone/Switch via USB-C and use it as an external display? If so, what's the virtual resolution of the screen, the refresh rate, PPI of the image etc? Is the text crisp enough to use for coding at say 12pt? Is it good enough for playing dark games, like say Path of Exile 2? How about fast games like car racing games? Just how do they expect anyone to order this thing without giving out all this info?
