Timan Veteran Posted May 24, 2012 Veteran Share Posted May 24, 2012 I have cox cable out here right now setting up my phone (land line), and its a pain in the ass what they're setting up. I have 50 darn cables / boxes in one area of the room just for a phone service that will prob not be used much. So I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions on a decent voip service to replace it. Currently we have a thing where if someone calls the home number, it also rings (and lets you answers) on cellphones, so if theres a service that offers that feature, would be awesome as well. Any help would be appreciated it.

sc302 Veteran Posted May 25, 2012 Veteran Share Posted May 25, 2012 forgive my idiocy with not knowing squat about cox, but if they are the same as comcast it is voip. your cable modem doubles as your voice. Everything comes through your cable line, there are no telephone pairs that come to your house it all goes through your cable modem. Let me ask this, what make and model modem do you have? Edit: his here screams voip, why would you plug in an ethernet cable into a device for telephony connectivity? you wouldn't. http://media.cox.com...stall_Sheet.pdf
