I have not gotten as much time to play as I would like, but according to the game I am 40% complete. I also really take my sweet time and explore every possible place.

I have to say this is easily the best game I have played so far in this very young year so far, but it is also one of the better games I have played in the past year period.

Really is a great game. All aspects of it are incredibly solid.

I don't want to read too of this thread, in case there are spoilers, but I truly enjoy this game. I haven't been this hooked since... I can't remember. I enjoy every single moment of it, and the story and the execution of the story really gets to me - it even made me cry once so far. I've supposedly finished about half the game, but I suspect there isn't much left of the story and the remaining percentages are mostly collectibles and stuff.

I haven't explored as much as I'd have liked to, simply because of the story. I need to know what happens, I can't just run off chasing stuff. Really gripping story-telling...

I have to say, I've always been a fan of the Tomb Raider franchise, but this one outdid itself. I haven't been this engrossed in a game in forever... My only real dig was that, though the locations were certainly varied, I did miss the world traveling element from prior games. I'm hoping the sequel will include more of that, as well as more in the way of tombs... But as a game, it was really very well done and enjoyable. It's going to be very hard waiting for the sequel... :|

Finally got around to beating this newest Tomb Raider. Know it is early on, but definitely my GOTY thus far. Really, really dug it. Great game, and I like it much more than Bioshock Infinite, hence why I beat it first.

Very much look forward to the next game in this reboot. They did a truly amazing job with it.

My one and only negative, and it is not really a negative more than something I noticed, is I did play it on the PS3, and it ran amazingly well the entire time, especially for the visuals, but the final level there was a noticeable overall slowdown due to everything that was going on. Did not really detract at all from the experience, but it was noticeable. Made me very much think cannot wait for the PS4.

Also I need to say, it has perhaps some of the better audio I have heard in a game in quite some time. Really was phenomenal how good the audio is.

Honestly never noticed that, but I was playing the digital version. I did see a comparison vid that said it ran better on 360, but looked better on PS3. But not by much in either aspect.

Finally started on it this weekend and while I'm only about 30% through I've been really enjoying it, much more than I had initially anticipated actually. Haven't noticed any slow downs so far yet but can't really say I've been in any hairy situations with tons of explosions or anything (only real ones so far are the cut scene ones using the in-game engine). Definitely glad I picked this up when they had the flash sale going on a few weekends back.

I was very sceptical of this game. Huge Tomb Raider and was worried they were going in the wrong direction.

Finally played through and finished the game. I was pleasantly surprised. THe whole game was very, very well done. While i would of like more puzzles and platforming in the main game (endgame has a lot of platforming). I found myself really enjoying it. I don't think i enjoyed the whole story that much, i did enjoy seeing Lara becoming "Lara Croft".

I think the extra dev time really helped this game. I didn't hit any insta-deaths or game wrecking bugs like Underworld. Plus they did a really good job on the PC port.

You shouldn't see any slow downs until the final level. That was the only time I saw them.

I'm still doing this game and i'm playing it on pc via a xbox 360 controller, So far it's one of my fav this year. Really stands out, gameplay wise and the feel and look of it. Never been the biggest fan of the series. Played first one on pc. That's it really. Also what i like with this game is it's quite long too. I'm only at 58% of the game.. loving it!!

    • I'd say the first one failed to be as popular as Apple anticipated, but the easy adjustment here is to make fewer of them next time around. It would only be a "flop" if it isn't possible for Apple to recover the design and factory tooling costs given the number of units sold, which I doubt would be the case. It isn't like no one bought them; it just failed to become the new hot phone of the year.
    • You're right that it does not follow the plain meaning of the word, but in this context, it is a legal term defined in 49 U.S.C. Kind of how "wire fraud" laws apply even if a physical wire was not used. Given that it is codified in law, and it isn't just automotive journalists that don't understand evolving technology, I highly doubt congress would change a well understood term just because technology makes the term slightly less actuate.
    • This is exactly why I keep saying we are not ready for human free self-driving. These little "bugs" are may seem like random one-offs. There was also the Waymo that drove between police with drawn weapons and the suspect they were pointing them at. From a software perspective it is easy to understand how those extremely rare situations may not have been programed for, but that is the point. If AI needs to be told to watch out for every possible contingency, then it can never be successful. There will always be the possibility of a first encounter that the AI needs to understand to avoid.
