Rangers replaced with 'Club 12' in SPL fixture list

Rangers will not appear on the official Scottish Premier League fixture list for 2012-13 when it is published at 09:00 BST on Monday.

Instead, the soon-to-be liquidated club will be replaced with "Club 12".

Rangers were bought by Charles Green's consortium last week and it has formed a new company that will have to re-apply for SPL membership.

But no date has yet been set for the vote, where Rangers need to win support of eight of the 12 clubs.

A date will be set once The Rangers Football Club - the name of the new entity - officially submit their application.

In a website statement, Rangers confirmed: "The SPL are replacing Rangers with 'Club 12' in the official list of fixtures for the 2012/13 season, which are released tomorrow morning.

"The governing body is sticking to the schedule of announcing the matches as planned but have taken the Ibrox men out of the list after the developments of last week, which saw Rangers FC change ownership under a newco scenario.

"The Sevco consortium headed by Charles Green completed the purchase of the club and its assets last week when HMRC refused to support an exit from administration through CVA.

"They are now seeking to transfer the SPL share from the old company - Rangers Football Club plc - to the new company, The Rangers Football Club."

The SPL will always be a two horse race anyway, they can't afford to not let Rangers back in.
