Playing devil's advocate. Had this been a Muslim group holding a meeting and a Christian family/group walked in, my money would be on them complaining about the Muslims.

You obviously haven't been to where I live. . .

Nik Louch will understand.

But if you read the article that seems to be something the writer inferred. not an actual fact given by the employee.

And therefore we can only judge or comment on the facts we have been presented with.

I would have thought if there was more than one complaint, that would have made a better story and would therefore have been written in.

It most certainly does not. Though shalt not kill is one of the most basic commandments :p (And a lot of the New Testament is meant to overwrites the teachings of the old, and there's most certainly nothing in there promoting murder too)

Unfortunately, the Old Testament does (the New Testament might, too; I'm not yet sure as I haven't yet read that far) :) Perhaps you didn't see my earlier post, in which I quoted Deuteronomy 21:18-21?a passage that states stubborn and rebellious children should be stoned to death? If that was law at the time, then it may not have been classed as murder at the time, but in my opinion, even considering the time, that would have been unjustifiable killing. Further, it would be classed as murder nowadays because there is no law allowing such acts. By 'good', I mean 'the right thing to do' (as you probably gathered), and this passage indecently states it is the right thing to do. This isn't the only passage in the Bible that promotes unjustifiable killing of people; there are more.

And therefore we can only judge or comment on the facts we have been presented with.

I would have thought if there was more than one complaint, that would have made a better story and would therefore have been written in.

No. in the old days of news, yes it would. but in the modern days of ad paid and comment driven online news, not really, a single complaint is a more sensationalist story and leads to more comments back and forth which leads to more ads which leads to more money. Truth in news articles today is often skewed for sensationalizing and making articles more controversial in order to drive up comments and readers engagement.

I know that's why buffet places have dinner prices all day on sunday to drive away people like the OP indicated above. Church groups crowd those places like mad and that's annoying for the customers as as well as the staff. They are often bad tippers as well. One Ryan's waitress told me that a large church group made a HUGE mess and didn't leave any tip at all. I don't blame MCD's or any other restaurant that chooses to penalize the above groups if they are lousy customers.

First of all, when Jesus died on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins, the old testament rules no longer applied from that point on. That is why we have the new testament! Second of all, that is not to be taken literally. It is basically saying that the parents should seek outside help for the child (not literally have him stoned to death)!

I love Christians like you who believe they can interpret what's literal and what isn't. You guys can make Christianity into anything. Mr. Ignorant from Pilgrims Progress comes to mind.

Well, in the OT, it does say that none of his words shall pass, even after heaven and earth do.... Yet, a guy comes along in the NT claiming to be "son of god" and says that it all passes with him... and they believe it. Shows how stupid the whole thing really is. So many contradictions and holes.

Jealousy is a sin, and God is a Jealous God... So God is a Sinner.

HA. yeah. I went to CCD and taught all of the bible was literal. Sometimes GOD commanded people to kill. anyway this is not part of this topic. Instead of saying it was a church group better to just say it was a discussion group

then what about chick-fil-A? gays trying toforce their way INTO the chain while another chain drives a church group out.

my question: "which is less violent of the 2 groups?"

McDonald's place, McDonald's choice.

thanks for defending chick-fil-a

I don't care about the policy. I love that BBQ sauce.

my question: "which is less violent of the 2 groups?"

How is either side being violent? And how are gays forcing their way into the chain?

Ignorance. What homosexual people are asking for is to be treated with the same respect and being given the same rights as straight people. If you can't stand that thought it's you with the problem not them.

correct. But the issue at hand is, this is a PRIVATE company. nothing chick-fil-A is doing hurts the homosexuals. this is a pure business choice.on the opposite hand, a christian group spends money at a McDonalds and get the boot. seem strange? seems like something is wrong with this picture. I don't see the christians up in arms.

Now, my ((( GUESS))) is, the homosexuals are driving a point home to have everyone accept them as you have stated. again, as is with free speech, I like a corporation have my own beliefs and I just simply disagree. I think this becomes more of an issue because chick-fil-A is a large chain, so the media exposure to drive that point home is why they are doing it. you can't force anyone to agree with them if they don't agree with their lifestyle. to the best if my understanding, Chick-fil-A is either a christian owned or the CEO has christian beliefs and has made them known ((( WHICH))) is why they are a target of the homosexuals. Is chick-fil-A the only chain they frequent or is there an ulterior motive?

things that make you go hmm...

Added: The last article on the web I read stated Chick-Fil-A is garnering a large support base for their stance on just this issue.

A Bible Study or Science Study should be allowed. It's irrelevant if you agree with it or not. It's freedom dude. I am very unhappy with the way this nation and this world is going.

I just want to close my eyes and get to the end.

End of what? Are you a Mayan or a Harold Camping follower?

My dear non-believer, don't you know that rules don't apply to the god of the desert? He can be a sinner, he can murder, he can be jealous, he can rape virgins, he can defy the natural laws of the universe, and he can defy any logic or human reason. He's Yah-sus-llah!

How does Chick-fil-A's contributing to initiatives that discriminate against the LGBT community NOT hurt them? And private companies are required by law to observe the Employment Non-Discrimination Act. It cannot be just written off as a business decision. If any of the company policies reflect the homophobic, religious-nut attitude of the company's founder, then the company can have its ass handed to it.

The Chick-fil-A case is not even close to being the same thing as the McDonald's case. We're talking about a group of people gathering in the restaurant with the primary purpose of talking about their silly religion instead of dining.

Probably because Chick-fil-A isn't discriminating against them. The LGBT community can still eat there. It's not like they are not serving certain people.

The silly religion comment is really not needed and show shows what a poor person you are when you preach tolerance. Stop trying to fool people, you only tolerate what you agree with.

Most liberals I know are the biggest hypocrites that I know as well.

I am not even a right wing person (and I don't even vote Republican), but you are just showing your true colors and frankly you could learn a few life lessons if you know what I mean.

Hehehe... He probably owns all the "Left Behind" books.

I don't own any of those books. It's called education, try it some time.

    • A different thing with Russia. When you say is it better, depends on things. It is better that we don't have the E.U making rules and laws that have nothing to do with them. Is the trading part better? No, that is really mucked up, but then we knew that was going to happen and we would have make agreements, like we do with other parts of the world. Freedom of movement is certainly better, but could be improved, we still need more control over our borders. do you live in the U.K?
    • So what am I quoting from them? I never listened to what Farage or his cronies said. I wanted the U.K to leave the E.u years before the referendum and it had nothing to do with Farage and his cronies. So what country do you live in? Did we work much better together? We were always at logger heads with the E.U because we disagreed with them so much. Maggie was always on at them. I would have thought the E.U was glad to get rid of us as we stopped the integration or made it a two tier. Now without us they can integrate more. I would not have voted out if it was just a trading block and we can still work together on somethings.

    • Apple reportedly looks to blacklisted Chinese memory chips as RAM prices climb by Karthik Mudaliar Image via Apple Apple is reportedly trying to get a clearance from the Trump administration to buy memory from ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) to get some relief from soaring DRAM prices. As per a report by the Financial Times, Apple approached the Commerce Department more than a month ago and also spoke to other officials and allies in Washington. For starters, CXMT is a company that's already been placed on the Pentagon's list of Chinese military companies. The Chinese company is the country's top DRAM maker. For Apple, the timing is certainly awkward but not surprising. Tim Cook had recently warned that Apple would have to raise prices because AI companies are buying up large amounts of memory for data centers, and just like that, Apple raised MacBook and iPad prices. Micron also recently revealed that customers have committed billions of dollars to secure memory supply years in advance, which shows us how aggressive securing infrastructure has become. This gives suppliers such as Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron more leverage, while pushing hardware makers to look for alternatives. CXMT is one of those alternatives, but not the simplest one. Apple has spent many years trying to diversify parts of its supply chain away from China, especially for final assembly, while still depending heavily on Chinese manufacturing and suppliers. Even domestic brands from China are moving towards CXMT and YMTC instead of relying on Samsung, Micron, and SK Hynix. For Apple, though, it would invite more scrutiny than local Chinese companies. For now, this is more like a lobbying effort rather than a confirmed supply deal. There's no official statement from either of the parties. What is clearer, though, is the pressure behind such a request. AI demand has certainly made hardware a bottleneck, and companies are trying everything they can to bring things back to normal, even if that means making politically sensitive choices.
