Nope... If you follow the winsupersite link under the screenshot you mentioned that's a Stardock Start8 dialog.

Well there you go ... burst my bubble :( ... thought I was first to notice a change in Windows 8!

Sorry guys.

Sigh~

You really have too much spare time and use it to generalize every single Windows user, just like Microsoft is doing right now.

Transparency overkill in my opinion, no thanks. I hate the idea of text in a windows/dialog box that's so transparent that it gets lost in the wallpaper or another window under it. That just makes my eyes bleed.

Well, once you hover over it you get full opacity, and again, I like a lot my backgrounds, your opinion is just that, an opinion, don't generalize FFS.

Who's generalizing exactly? Because I sure as hell am not.

If you guys don't like the white, or w/e then there will be themes to download and use, there have always been themes, this isn't going to change. I don't much care for it being too white as well, a darker theme is more to my liking but if that's not an option then I'll find a theme that matches what I want.

Made it better, it seems, and given those who dislike the Metro experience an option for the Desktop to be shown instead of the Start Screen whenever they login :)

The 'do you want to boot to the desktop' dialogue box is from Start8, not Windows 8 RTM. Check the WinSupersite link below the screenshot.

the red close button hurts in my eyes.

Would you prefer more white or grey? :p Heh, I'm kidding. I don't think the close button looks particularly nice. I'm not sure whether I'm a fan of how this new Desktop design looks, but I do prefer it to the design of Windows 7.

I think your desktop looks really cool (Y)

Thanks mate.

Some others, for the sake of what windows will miss with all this "metrification" going on, please disregard the backgrounds, I'm a huge Suigintou fan, please note the themes, they are everything but what Dot Matrix have put. (Even win98 is in there... because even windows 98 doesn't hurt my eyes as metro does, plus has start menu)

Edit: Better this size.

I'm not sure this thread has enough anime yet.

That's everything i got really, they are a compilation of several screenshots taken randomly since I think 2008, when theming was quite good. I promise I won't post anything else.
