Mainly desktop publishing, 1080p video editing, research etc.

:p

It was joke. I'm running OS X Mountain Lion on a 27-inch iMac. I couldn't get any of my work done using an iMac G3 running the Mac OS X Public Beta.

That's a shame, I really love stories of how people use outdated technology in their lives :(

Maybe you wanna talk to the many Lion users who are stuck with it on their unupgradeable machines?

OH SNAP!!!

Nah seriously, my fianc? belongs to that sorry group of users... I'd ADORE to upgrade her to Mountain Lion, but her Macbook won't work with it. :(

I think dropping the 32bit kernel is good, what is not good, is not giving Mountain Lion the same system requirements as Lion.

I mean, really, ML is what Lion should have been and everyone and their dog knows Lion is slowing down the system and only has a half-a**ed integration of iCloud.

Back on topic:

I know what you're talking about and I feel the same.

Retro is cool in a way and I'll definitely get some older Macs later on, mostly for collecting them, I don't have specific plans what to do with them.

They are just beautifully crafted and better than a lot of designer room decorations out there.

(Sometimes even much cheaper :p)

My next apartment will definitely see a good old 1950's telephone made from bakelite.

Glassed Silver:mac

Awww. Well, my mom still uses a 2005 eMac (1,42 GHz G4) running OS X Leopard on a daily basis. Did that cheer you up a bit?

OS X Lion on a mid-2011 Mac Book Pro (first SB batch I think). I won't be going ML anytime soon as it is incompatible with our corporate network - Lion was too and I only moved to Lion in May'12.

Snow Leopard on Mid-2010 iMac. No reason for me to move past that right now. Really not into the whole iOS integration since I don't have an i-device yet (other than the iMac). I have looked at the other goodies in ML and yet, just can't get myself to fork over the $$$ for what little I would use or need at the moment.

Might upgrade later though. ;)

Running 10.6.8 on my 13" MacBook (Late 2009). I've been considering upgrading to 10.8, but I'm dragging my feet waiting to see if they fix the battery drain bug first. I like getting 7+ hours out of my battery, I'd hate to have that drop to half.

Yeah they just seeded 10.8.1 to developers, so it should be out soon...

Late 2008 MacBook (polycarbonate) on Lion. I would have upgraded to Mountain Lion if mine was officially supported. I know it's definitely possible to install it; not sure if I should do it though.

I'm running Snow Leopard on a Macbook i was given for free. As it's the first Mac i've owned after being a long time Windows user, i'm still figuring things out.

I unearthed a MB that I havent used in a while and its running 10.7.4 (dont know the names). Is there any reason to upgrade to 10.8?

    • Ridiculous claim that the labor cost difference of $6000 annually would increase cost per phone by $200. The employees produce 3 phones per month or what?

    • And I just bought a seat cushion for my mesh chair. The chair feels nice but the first time I sat in it with boxers, I realized I don't like the feel of mesh on my legs. 😂
