Wake up multiple times a night

Recommended Posts

I'm the same as well. I just started a new job with a new routine so I am having a really hard time adjusting my sleep pattern.

The first week I was waking up about 5 times every night.

So far this week it has been about 3 time a night and the only thing that has changed is I'm forcing myself to stay up a little bit later and eat as soon as I get home and having nothing for a few hours before bed.

I don't feel tired and it doesnt bother me because when I wake up my dog comes and says hello then goes back to sleep :D

Too much stress and too little physical exercise is usually the problem to many sleep problems. And yeah, don't eat too late and cut down on the meat.

Probably is this.

How much exercise do you do a week - do you go to the gym, etc?

You could try getting some herbal Nytols just to see if they help you.

I used to have trouble sleeping through the night, even though I kept a fairly regular schedule and got plenty of exercise. It turns out that I have a gluten intolerance, and once I eliminated wheat from my diet, I lost 30 pounds in 4 months and no longer have any trouble sleeping through the night.

A while ago I had major toothache and I was given strong painkillers and a mild anti depressant which has a side effect of making you sleepy. So a mild sleeping table and even though the toothache is gone I still take the antidepressant when I cant sleep.

Few hours before I want to go to bed and it works a charm but its not something I Want to rely on long term.

water, iced tea and marie callendar's meals.

i gotta drank all the time.... or I get mad headaches from hell

Oh man, you will have health problems eating that all the time :s so full of preservatives and sodium and etc.

It's probably either stress or food/drink habits. Eating less than an hour before going to bed not only causes weight gain but can cause disturbances in sleep. Obviously drinking sugary drinks would also do this. I would bet on stress though.

My girlfriend has a rare condition that we have found causes (among other things) her to stop breathing at night which causes her to constantly wake up. I only mention this because sometimes (most times) a doctor may dismiss your concern when there may well be something wrong.

they're cheap.... LOL.... and my tummy problems are more important though.... I can eat those meals anytime.... most food, if tommy wants to be a meanie butt than I can't eat most foods :-(

I use to be able to sleep like a baby until recent events which created a lot of stress in my life has cause me to now awake many times though out the night,I drink water thats what usually helps me relax enough to go back to sleep soon after.I awake around 3-4 times on average a night right now.

I was thinking about trying this out

If you have stomach problems, that is even more of a reason not to eat that :s I feel you on the "its cheap" thing though, been there done that.

As to sleeping, I am usually OK once I fall asleep, but I have trouble dropping off (I think this is primarily due to me being nocturnal but having to keep a "normal" sleep schedule since I work first shift) most nights. I found a natural melatonin supplement that really helps (melatonin is the sleep hormone your body naturally produces), and I can also take one if I wake up in the middle of the night and can't go back to sleep--doesn't make you drowsy the next day or whatever. It's really helped me, if I wake up at 2am and then my brain won't shut up, its a natural fix that doesn't have side effects or addictive qualities. :)

I would try doing exercises before bed, and also break up your sleep into 2 shorter blocks. ;)

    • It saddens me when cars are such dull colours now. Mine is bright metallic blue and I absolutely adore it for standing out in contrast to that depressing backdrop of traffic.

    • Get over it, has nothing to do with my point.
    • I really don't like these rounded corners and huge borders in the viewport. They just waste space without anything in return.
