Pineapple: Legitimate pizza topping or not?

I used to love ham and pineapple pizza, was my favourite but I then I went years without having it and the next time I did................disgusting :(

IMO now pineapple ruins pizza for me. So unfortunate.

Thanks to enigma-penguin we now know how to make a pizza with pineapple as topping even worse: Add mayo.

I'm usually pretty open minded. Pinapple doesn't bother me in the least. In fact, it's a pizza, almost anything is fair game. But mayo? That officially crosses the line into somewhere between gross and blasphemy.

I have friends who are from Hawaii originally.. they asked if I wanted some pizza... I told them sure... then they got me some pizza with pineapple and ham on it...

Wow.. They were so good... I would eat them again. No problem.

I don't like it as much reheated, but I love it. Pepperoni and pineapple&ham/canadian bacon are the only kinds I eat.

Anyway.. yes, it's legit.. not my thing, but I've seen Pineapple Pizza's around for as long as I can remember, and I'm not in Hawaii lol

Well it can be and it can't. Officially a Pizza contains only the following - Pizza Base, Tomatoe base with Cheese on top. However you can replace the tomatoe and cheese with something else but a Pizza can only be 3 different incrediants as such, pizza then two toppings.

I remember watching somrthing on BBC2 about Pizza's and the Italians were getting very angry at more than 3 things to make a pizza.

Pineapple though, for me no. I like room temperature or cold Pineapple not warm

I would only have pineapple, probably, on a "Hawaiian" pizza as they call it here - ham, pineapple and possibly mushroom. I wouldn't have pineapple if I having something like a meat feast or similar as it'd be out of place there.

But yep, for me, it's a legitimate pizza topping!
