As usual, there?s a massive amount of anticipation (plus speculation) to see what Apple?s next iPhone will be like. This time around a plethora of leaked parts, now fully assembled, all claim to be included into the next-gen iPhone. Way more than the iPhone 4S, or even the 4. This new iPhone is expected to have a 4-inch display, be thinner and taller, but have a design similar to its predecessors.

Today, yet another new video of what?s being called the iPhone 5, graciously provided by an ?anonymous source,? has arrived on YouTube. The major difference to this 3:21 video is that it shows the device being turned on, but because its lacking a new doc connector cable it can?t be ?connected to iTunes?. Overall, based on the previous leaks, it?s a convincing quick demo of the hardware.

Tim Cook, Apple?s CEO, stated in May that ?We?re going to double down on secrecy on products.? If all the leaked videos and images of the upcoming ?iPhone 5? parts turn out to be true then he really should quadruple down. I?m all for the leaks, but if Apple is in fact doubling down on security there?s also a possibility they?re pulling a similar move to what Samsung did with the Galaxy S III and making prototype designs to disguise their flagship device from being revealed. Anything is possible.

Apple is rumoured to be holding a media event on September 12th, then releasing their next iPhone on September 21st.

real or fake ?

Fake:

- He holds down the power button too long. You can clearly see that he holds it because he can't know if it's turned on or not :p

- The screen doesn't light up. There is no light.

- There is no battery icon on that connect to itunes screen (ios 5-6 doesn't even need to connected to itunes for first use)

- The fake screen gets down quickly because he moves the phone too fast when he put it back on the table.

- Takes approximately two seconds for the device to power on if you hold the top power button. Tried it on my phone.

- Not moving the device while it was on is a bit suspect.

- The device could've been in DFU mode, at which it would show the connect to iTunes icon even on iOS 5/6.

- Not sure about the poweroff delay for the iTunes icon.

If this prototype is real, it looks a lot better than the previously rumoured two-tone back design.

Same basic phone design we've had for the past two years, only with a taller screen. iOS 6 with the same basic interface design we've had for the past five years. Whoopty-doo! I'm really not one of those people who expect something new and revolutionary every single year, but unless Apple pulls a rabbit out of its hat with iOS 6 the next iPhone release is stacking up to be boring as hell. Again.

Fake video.

He says it's a new dock connector, yet does everything he can to never show the connector directly to the camera. Doesn't show the new connector to charge the phone... how did he get a charged version of a phone that doesn't exist yet?

from what he said in the Video the power cord was now giving to him

Have to say I'm not really that impressed with the leaks so far. It just like a longer iPhone 4. I had an iPhone 3GS and I currently have an iPhone 4S but I'm not going to upgrade to this I just don't see the point.

I am curious about one thing though, with each iPhone they have included what they perceive to be a killer unique feature. With the iPhone 3G it was the 3G. With the iPhone 3GS it was twice as fast and had voice commands. With the iPhone 4 they added the Retina display, with the iPhone 4S we got Siri. I wonder what unique feature this new iPhone will have that the other iPhones don't. If it's just the taller screen or 4G I'm not sold.

I know how you feel .. the good thing about these whole leak though.. if it turns out to be wrong and iPhone 5 design is much better than the leak, then people are definitely going to go crazy and super excited (when I say people, I mean Apple fanboys like me haha)

Most likely the complete implementation of Passbook with NFC. That would be quite ho hum though considering we were told about Passbook back in June, and we have rumours of NFC.

Though thinking back to Siri, Apple kept it hidden in the iOS 5 betas until the reveal of the 4S. Could be the same for the 6th gen iPhone?

Well if you analyze the available light you will know that if it was directly facing the camera then you can't see it. The light is in front of the camera. If he was smart then he'd use a flash light to view the areas that were to dark to see.

    • OpenAI is rolling out a major upgrade to ChatGPT memory by Pradeep Viswanathan OpenAI is rolling out a major upgrade to ChatGPT's memory, making the system more capable, current, and scalable across long-term use. Memory allows ChatGPT to remember useful details about users, including their preferences, projects, and constraints. Instead of starting every conversation from scratch, ChatGPT can use this context to provide more relevant responses in future chats. OpenAI first launched saved memories in February 2024. That feature allowed users to explicitly ask ChatGPT to save information into its memory, such as travel plans or writing preferences. However, this system had limits because it depended heavily on users giving clear instructions to remember something. Additionally, saved memories could become stale over time. In April 2025, OpenAI expanded memory by allowing ChatGPT to reference past chat context outside the saved memories list. This was powered by a background process called “dreaming,” which automatically curates memories from chat history. This made ChatGPT better at learning from natural conversation without requiring users to manually save every detail. Today, OpenAI announced a more capable and compute-efficient memory architecture built on top of dreaming. This new system improves ChatGPT’s ability to carry forward useful context, follow user preferences, and remain accurate as time passes. According to OpenAI’s internal evaluations, the new system improves factual recall from 67.9% in 2025 to 82.8% in 2026. Preference adherence improves from 55.3% to 71.3%, while accuracy over time improves from 52.2% to 75.1%. The best part of this new system is a new memory summary page where users can review ChatGPT's memories. Users can even update details, correct information, or give instructions on what topics ChatGPT should bring up and when. This new, improved memory system is available to ChatGPT Plus and Pro users in the US starting today. It will roll out to more countries, as well as Free and Go users, in the coming weeks.
    • I work for a video production company in Australia. The camera operators shoot footage and then pass the SD card over to the editors. Much easier than handing over the entire camera. Plus, on a busy day you can hand off the SD card and then pop another in for the next shoot. Or, you might have used multiple SD cards because you need the extra space for a long shoot. I also use USB cables and wifi for transferring footage, but in many cases an SD card reader is the easiest method.
