I think that as part of the sign up process for Neowin there should be a field where you have to tell a joke. If the joke is creative and makes the admins laugh then access to the forums is granted.

Post count had nothing to do with it. It makes much more sense to post replies to already posted topics than to create posts so that you can increase your post count by one. Your logic fails in this respect. I'm not intending to be insulting to anyone. However as one can see many people post who are. I mean really why post a negative post? How about just moving on to something else? why spam a thread with "why did you post this?"
