DerkPY
How do I get the icon back?
DreamCaster
Came across this on Google and tested it on a w2k and win98 system (worked for both) Open Notepad and enter the following text: [shell] Command=2 IconFile=explorer.exe,3 [Taskbar] Command=ToggleDesktop Save the new file as Show Desktop.scf then drag and drop the icon on the Quick Launch bar or whatever location you want the shortcut to appear. Hope this helps :) ~Peace DC
FlishFun Veteran Posted October 24, 2003 Veteran Share Posted October 24, 2003 If you're on XP you can just make a new shortcut on the desktop (Right-Click, New, Shortcut) and point it to "C:\Show Desktop.scf" . Then Move the shortcut to the QuickLaunch bar. :D
ozgeek
If you're on XP you can just make a new shortcut on the desktop (Right-Click, New, Shortcut) and point it to "C:\Show Desktop.scf" . Then Move the shortcut to the QuickLaunch bar. :D I believe that C:\Show Desktop.scf is incorrect. I've tried it just for testing but it didn't work. The path must be somewhere else. thingsforjason
i think if you search your computer, you'll find another copy of that show desktop link somewhere. just copy that and put it back on your quick launch bar
CoolCatBad
Mine vanished suddenly a month ago Path is C:\Windows\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch (But file should be saved in System Folder. The above path is where you create shortcut)
