'Show Desktop' in the quick launch bar.

Recommended Posts

Came across this on Google and tested it on a w2k and win98 system (worked for both)

Open Notepad and enter the following text:

[shell]

Command=2

IconFile=explorer.exe,3

[Taskbar]

Command=ToggleDesktop

Save the new file as Show Desktop.scf then drag and drop the icon on the Quick Launch bar or whatever location you want the shortcut to appear.

Hope this helps :)

If you're on XP you can just make a new shortcut on the desktop (Right-Click, New, Shortcut) and point it to "C:\Show Desktop.scf" . Then Move the shortcut to the QuickLaunch bar. :D

I believe that C:\Show Desktop.scf is incorrect. I've tried it just for testing but it didn't work. The path must be somewhere else.

Mine vanished suddenly a month ago

Path is

C:\Windows\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch

(But file should be saved in System Folder. The above path is where you create shortcut)
