Godaddy.com down?

Recommended Posts

Them having issues with dns they host is not the same thing as the godaddy.com website being down.

What is your domain, and can look to see if it resolves. PM if you don't want it public - but godaddy is clearly up

They are definitely NOT DOWN ;)

And check your PM, I queried your domain just fine - from the owning nameservers run by godaddy.

I just sent you a pm, checked from multiple regions in NA. San Jose, Chicago, Jax FL, I can bounce off pretty much any region on the globe you would like EU, Asia, South America, India, Australia -- have not tested them all, but clearly is an isolated issue since you can see the website and I did a query directly to their name servers for your domain.

I don't have a connection currently in Vegas area, but new customer has a DC there - so when that vpn is online in a couple of days I could test directly from there ;)

Go Daddy ?@GoDaddy

Status Alert: Hey, all. We're aware of the trouble people are having with our site. We're working on it.

Not completely isolated.

Clearly is not DOWN ;) since again I showed you their website and a query for your domain - under a DDOS??? Maybe that could cause all kinds of issues, but not "down" ;)

Do you actually use them for hosting of your site, or just dns of your domain?

GoDaddy's services are clearly having issues. We get it, their site isn't "down", but their DNS is having problems. I can't get to my site via the domain name I purchased through them, nor can anyone else.

I just PM'd bankajac on this - this is why you don't just have your nameservers with 1 service. Host your dns on multiple services on multiple networks. This way even if one of the services comes under a DOS, you can still resolve your records from the ones that are not.

    • Any decent ITSM will A) have a web form that allows a user to raise a ticket, if you're writing an email you can write a ticket. B) Monitor a mailbox and auto-generate tickets based on inbound mails for those users that really can't get their heads around the concept that if you have an issue you go to support.mycompany.com and fill in the box. From your description you're having users email the desk, and then having a human read each one and manually raise a ticket on behalf of the user.

    • Fixing things? Have you ever tried linux? Everything works out of the box nowadays in most common hardware. This includes Wifi and Bluetooth. If anything, if they return back to windows is because they haven't found an equivalent program which often used on windows.
    • 18 months ago I bought the 4TB variant for $380 CDN. Now it is $1500 CDN [$949 US].
