Gmail Notifier Plus stopped working for one of my gmail accounts two days ago... Then today it stopped working for my second account.

It just gives me a "Please check your account settings" error, even though all the account setting are correct.

Has there been a recent change to gmail that has broken the log in functionality?

Both of these are google apps accounts (ie. they have custom domain names instead of just @gmail.com) so maybe that has something to do with it?

Anyone else experiencing this?

Thanks!

I never used that app ...

GMail notifies me via notification center on my android phone then I can check email on either smartphone or desktop.

Yes. Me, too... But I also have this app which conveniently monitors my gmail accounts and gives me a handy pop-up of what was just sent to me while I'm working on the computer. No need to have my phone nearby or open a browser.

Was working fantastically until two days ago... Hoping someone here knows what changed and how to fix it.

I am having the exact same problem. @andrew_, can you please assist? Thanks. Much appreciated.

I just found the 3.7 alpha version and it is working well again.

https://github.com/shellscape/Gmail-Notifier-Plus/issues/133

Thanks goes to jansokoly and andrew_(shellscape).

I'm not that much of an expert with Github. Is there a fast way to compile it to a usable program?

Unfortunately, version 3.6 isn't working for me. Stil get the "Please check your account settings". I tried installing the 3.7 .msi alpha from Github, but halfway through the install, it asks for the 3.5 version .msi, which I don't have.

Please let me know where I can go to get the necessary bits.

Cheers

Not sure why it's asking for 3.5 msi... Don't think I have that myself -- but I just downloaded the 3.7 msi from here:

https://github.com/jansokoly/Gmail-Notifier-Plus/releases

And it installed fine on my Windows 7 64bit system. Working perfectly again for me.

Strange. I tried version 3.7 msi again, and it asked for version 3.5 msi. I tried to uninstall version 3.6, and it asked for version 3.5 msi. So I did a web search to find version 3.5 msi, found it and downloaded it. Then uninstalled version 3.6 and it uninstalled fine. Ran version 3.7 msi again and it installed properly.

And version 3.7 does work perfectly.

It seems that the way Gmail Notifier Plus works is the following notifications possible

1. Toast transient pop-up.
2. Sound with 1

3. System tray count

4. Taskbar count

5. Flash the Taskbar a couple of times and leave it backlit for a minute or so.

If you are away, the only difference when you come back will be the counts, yet that can be missed.

Why not have the option that the pop-up stays until you make a keyboard or mouse action?

===================

Also, in my testing, I've noticed that a non-default account does not always trigger an action on a new email.

In fact, the count in the tray for some reason ended up one more than in the Taskbar.
