A man playing cat and mouse with an angry, testosterone-fueled stag around the base of a tree in a London park finally escaped the attacking animal by climbing the tree, which had served as his only protection from the business end of those deadly antlers. Fortunately this ended well, so seeing video of the red deer chasing the man up a tree has a certain amusement factor.

Bushy Park in west London, where this incident occurred, is home to some 125 red deer, and it just happens to be mating season. Unfortunately for the unidentified man in the video, he got a bit too close as he came upon two stags about to fight, as they do during the rut.

One turned on the man, chasing him to a tree protected by a wooden fence. The animal and man danced around the tree with the animal in full attack mode, prompting the man to plea, "I need some help here!", according to MailOnline.

Passer-by Lisa Acremom captured the moment on her mobile phone and shared the story.

Lisa, speaking to The Guardian, said: 'There were two stags parallel going to have a fight and all of a sudden a man has got too close and was chased by a stag, who was hopped up for rutting season.

'He was just walking along the path and stopped as he thought the stag was going to cross and it took its choice and went after the bloke instead of the other stag.'

Eventually the bearded man clambers up the rickety fence and into the tree to escape his bellowing tormentor.

'Nobody could get close to the bloke to help so when he went up the tree I dialled 101 and phoned the police,' Lisa added.

With nothing to chase after its prey disappeared into the leaves, the deer moved on and police eventually helped the relieved man out of the tree.

According to the report, warning signs are posted throughout the park, instructing visitors to keep their distance from deer, particularly during mating season.

You have to be very careful of any kind of deer - they are definitely not Bambi by any stretch. They are wild, and often aggressive, animals which are extremely strong - even the small & young ones.

About 20 years ago a few of us were out small game hunting and heard screams in a swampy area. When we finally got to the scene we found two other hunters, one of which had been fatally gored by what the other guy described as a 300+ lb Whitetail buck. It was during their rut (mating season) so the bucks are aggressive and have formidable atlers.

A few years later my best friend had his thigh torn open by, of all things, an antlerd doe (female) which weighed no more than 100 lbs soaking wet. 40+ stitches worth. Yes, antlerd female Whitetails happen.

    • Apple reportedly looks to blacklisted Chinese memory chips as RAM prices climb by Karthik Mudaliar Image via Apple Apple is reportedly trying to get a clearance from the Trump administration to buy memory from ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) to get some relief from soaring DRAM prices. As per a report by the Financial Times, Apple approached the Commerce Department more than a month ago and also spoke to other officials and allies in Washington. For starters, CXMT is a company that's already been placed on the Pentagon's list of Chinese military companies. The Chinese company is the country's top DRAM maker. For Apple, the timing is certainly awkward but not surprising. Tim Cook had recently warned that Apple would have to raise prices because AI companies are buying up large amounts of memory for data centers, and just like that, Apple raised MacBook and iPad prices. Micron also recently revealed that customers have committed billions of dollars to secure memory supply years in advance, which shows us how aggressive securing infrastructure has become. This gives suppliers such as Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron more leverage, while pushing hardware makers to look for alternatives. CXMT is one of those alternatives, but not the simplest one. Apple has spent many years trying to diversify parts of its supply chain away from China, especially for final assembly, while still depending heavily on Chinese manufacturing and suppliers. Even domestic brands from China are moving towards CXMT and YMTC instead of relying on Samsung, Micron, and SK Hynix. For Apple, though, it would invite more scrutiny than local Chinese companies. For now, this is more like a lobbying effort rather than a confirmed supply deal. There's no official statement from either of the parties. What is clearer, though, is the pressure behind such a request. AI demand has certainly made hardware a bottleneck, and companies are trying everything they can to bring things back to normal, even if that means making politically sensitive choices. • I did test it a month or so back, but ... the results I expect to be on the first page are not there.
    • Neowin is saying these are good prices? Thats crazy. As others have said they are just ######. Time for big tech to bring down the prices for real not this fake crap.
    • The iFlyTek AINote 2 is among the thinnest E-Ink tablets. It has an EMR stylus, a built-in fingerprint reader, and plenty of built-in AI features. You had me until "and plenty of built-in AI features." That and any company that still does the iProduct naming trope is an immediate pass. It suggests the company isn't very imaginative or creative and is trying to piggyback off another company's success. Extremely lame. Also kind of expensive. Better choices at lower prices out there.
    • These are not "great" prices... just "less awful". Apparently "Those who forget the past are doomed to pay higher prices and think they've won."
