I know, must have cost a fortune!!

I thought the same thing. But it is Microsoft, and Windows 8 is a bit more of a gamble than usual so they probably justified it very simply: we have the cash, let's make sure people know about our latest endeavour.

Is that when they just turned all the ads blue ?
