and your source?

Not able to network? Umm, I've got two XP Home computers that I networked. All of the computers at my parents work have XP Home and are networked, as well as multi-user.

Here are a few... from Microsoft them self

And if you still want more...here you go

:cookie: :p

now you're gonna say that you didn't know that XP pro and home edition where different....

did you really think MS put out 2 of the exact same thing?

No I didn't think that MS had put out two identical OS's w/ different names.

Your statement that Pro was better than Home is your opinion and prefrence for what you need.

As for whoever called me a douche... Grow up.

well i called someone a douche, but... well it wasn't you. it was the guy who said your setup was "poop" to use the vernacular. so i guess you could say i was defending you. yea you could say that if you were so inclined.

what's funny about that is this: home and pro editions are, in fact, different but for none of the reasons you gave. not able to network? are you kidding me?

hold... your signature says you've got a P4 3.0E HT - is that extream edition?? And you have WinXP Home?? Why?!?!

No it's not an EE. And Home works just fine thanks. I use Pro at work. I don't need the few minor differences in Pro at home!

How is that printer? I was thinking of picking one up.

The Canon i960 photo quality is unreal... Read the reviews... They're all true. Photos look just like you'd get at a quality lab. The new iP5000 replaces it (with 1 picoliter printing), but I couldn't find any reviews... The i960 is just $119.99 now so it's an incredible value...

Let's see... I can network just fine with Home... I can setup users for me and my wife and anyone else I want...

I realize the level of networking isn't the same as in Pro, but I'm at home.

Less security? I assume you mean with regards to setting up network shares and such. Yeah, I can't specify which users can access a share... Again I'm not looking to lock down my computers that way.

Works for me... May not for you.

what do you mean by not able to network?

I got 2 computers running on home, wirelessly networked.

Is there a performance difference?  like in games and stufF?

No performance differences. Pro is just better for corporate environments. The major differences are in networking and support for file encryption within the file system.
