The computer monitor is an HP F2304 23" LCD High definition, 1920x1200 (it is my understanding it's the same core as apple 23" cinema displayscreen)

The TV is an Hitachi 32PD5000 plasma :)

I believe because its widescreen, (the LCD) and he needs' a widescreen resolution, which seems not to be set a.t.m. Not Completely sure though.

i think those are speakres on the side
