Wii U cracked?

Recommended Posts

On the plus side it should help Wii U Sales. I always wait until I can hack the crap out of a system before I buy it.

Indeed, there are usually some fun homebrew things to do with a console that doesn't involve pirating games. My daughter's original Wii has a few applications on there that she uses never mind dumping her games to a hard drive, even older original XBox still running XBMC in a spare bedroom, etc.

Well, that worked out nicely, Nintendo...

Oh God, I'm so desperately waiting for the day consoles are free from the need to do all that jazz.

Also, I hope that in future emulation of current consoles (and ongoing) will be possible again.

AFAIK there are no 360 and PS3 emulators, which is sad, because one day those consoles will break and you might still want to play those games (exclusives that never made it to the PC platform).

But it's all against honest customers, for the sake of pseudo-limiting the bad folks.

Meh...

Rant over.

How long did it take to hack the original Wii? Thought it was only a few months.

Not sure, but yeah, that was definitely a speedy hack.

I would like it very much if the Wii U was hacked. I own a Wii U Deluxe set you know. I would like to be able to get games from the e-shop for free.

it's people like you that cause hacking of consoles to be looked down on

No, it's due to people thinking that people like him can be stopped by those doomed-to-fail attempts, which are thought to be justified even in spite of all the legitimate users who get screwed by them.

Don't distract from the decision makers in terms of who to hold responsible, otherwise you're letting them have a field-day defending bullcrap decisions that are limiting you - the honest buyer.

so? people like to know what they can find out about things. wasn't the term "hacker" coined to see what people could learn about hardware and software?just to see what it's guts were all about?

It's like saying DRM is justified, even though the pirates get their stuff for free anyways, but we can all feel better doing something, even if we cut into our own flesh.

Fail0verflow just posted a new blog post: http://fail0verflow....2012/8days.html

Their post was the following key, they are heavily involved in the original wii hacking:

27181eb3cc988732fc416563c6f21b4a34b88a05[/CODE]

I doubt that's the master encryption keys, somehow. Seems way too easy to be true.

However, if it is... extremely bad times for Nintendo. Piracy rampant from the 1st month = major issue for Nintendo. The Wii was saved from this due to the technical hurdles being involved which discouraged most users (who were casual gamers) from doing it - the Wii U doesn't really have this backup as of yet. Not only that, but Nintendo aren't profiting directly from the Wii U either.

Nintendo makes money from Wii U after one game is sold.

Only first party titles and only barely, nothing that would keep the company alive. and that doesn't take dev costs into account.

Sorry but the amount f users who genuinely want to do homebrew and stuff like that instead of pirating is so small percentage wise that it's irrelevant and their "inconvenience" is of no concern, regular legal users don't even notice the DRM in modern consoles.

and for those that want to do homebrew, well that's what computers are for.

No, it was coined from old programmers 'hacking' pieces of code together to make programs that might potentially work.

and for those that want to do homebrew, well that's what computers are for.

Eh? What a dumb attitude. Some of the best games for consoles are homebrew. REAXION is by far one of the best games made, starting on C64 and being ported to loads of consoles, a score save feature would make it awesome but it's brilliant as-is for the GBA for instance.

    • O&O ShutUp10 3.1.1104 by Razvan Serea O&O ShutUp10 offers a simple yet effective way to take control of your Windows privacy. It provides access to almost 50 privacy-related tweaks, most of them hidden or not easily accessible to the average computer users. Using a very simple interface, you decide how Windows 10/11 should respect your privacy by deciding which unwanted functions should be deactivated. Using ShutUp10 you can easily disable Windows Defender, turn off telemetry, disable peer-to-peer updates, turn off Wi-Fi Sense, disable automatic Windows updates, turn off and reset Cortana and more. ShutUp10 allows you to create a System Restore point before you apply any changes, so that you can revert your system at any time if you run into problems. O&O ShutUp10 is entirely free and does not have to be installed – it can be simply run directly and immediately on your PC. And it will not install or download retrospectively unwanted or unnecessary software, like so many other programs do these days! O&O ShutUp10 Free and Premium The latest version brings O&O ShutUp10 Premium, expanding the app’s long-standing privacy controls with automatic enforcement of user-defined settings. Instead of manually rechecking options after every Windows update, users can set their preferred privacy configuration once—or apply recommended settings in a single click—and the tool continuously monitors them in the background. If Windows 10 or 11 re-enables disabled features or introduces new data collection paths, Premium restores the chosen settings automatically without user intervention. The free version remains available and fully functional for manual adjustments, offering the same core privacy controls for Windows. However, the Premium tier is aimed at users who want long-term, hands-off protection, adding automatic reapplication after updates, ongoing monitoring, and optional notifications to ensure privacy settings remain consistent over time. • In the past few days I have noticed two odd moderation activities. First, when I posted the term 'White Nationist Christian' it was asterisk's out. When I changed it to **** it was allowed! Second, in the Politics is a ###business thread I was allowed to post that the GOP is a party of p e d ophiles but I was censored  when I posted the GOP are a party of p e d ophile protectors. Wtf Neowin. Please explain.
