The point is that putting your religious affiliation as "none" would be more useful.

Why? The whole idea of putting Jedi was to mock organised religion. Everyone that studies the data knows what the meaning is.

You're right, I mispoke. All religions are jokes. This one is simply an intentional joke, without any of the bloodshed.
