Why are most people so ignorant about the nurse's suicide?

Imagine the feeling of millions of people judging you as you make a mistake that anybody could have made. It's ****ing humiliating and honestly if she did feel that death is better than to live in this crappy world full of bull**** then I can't do anything else than respect her decision. This might sound odd but her kid is old enough to take care of herself and seeing how stupid humans are (and have probably always been) suicide is probably less cowardly (I don't think it is actually) than what many people I see do to earn a living ****ing other people over. It's a cruel world out there.

Treat her with anti-depressants? We know this world is **** no matter how people try to make it seem worthwhile. This world is evolving way too fast for human emotions to adapt.

PS This isn't a suicide letter, just a different perspective to the situation.

I feel worse for the DJ's. They shouldn't have to live with the guilt of causing someone to kill themselves. It was unforeseen that the outcome of the call was going to be death. MOST people don't off themselves when they get pranked on the phone, that's not normal behavior.

oh heck, in some cultures suicide is the "honorable way" after you "shamed" someone or did something wrong

and most people don't get pranked on the phone while they are a nurse for a very high profile figure and then have that broadcast all around the world...

I agree that it sucks for the DJs to get that kind of attention, but can you see the pattern here? I think humanity is to blame. It's in our nature. People want this false sense of 'freedom' and everything that happened (prank, mass media attention, reporting, blame, expression) until now falls within those parameters.

I do see a pattern here. People aren't taking responsibility for anything anymore they just push it onto someone else. They just blame everyone else for their problems. For all we know she was already suicidal, but just waiting for the right reason to kill herself, so someone else can take the blame.

Pranks backfire all the time, sure this was in the public eye but if she killed herself over something like this then she clearly must have had something else wrong with her, you don't just leave behind a husband and kids because you're embarrassed. Not trying to defend the DJ's either because it was a dumb thing to do but they could never have expected something like this to happen.

Has anyone pointed out the fact that the person who committed suicide wasn't even a nurse who was pranked? It was a nurse who from my understanding answered the phone call and then passed it onto another person.

She didn't hang herself because she felt bad over the call, she did it because the hospital staff most probably gave her enormous amounts of **** about it and treated her like crap.

Of course, the hospital nor it's staff will ever admit to that.

What about Managerment, they are the ones that should be on the news! What are the rules about airing something like this with permission. How can it be legal to record a phonecall and then air it on the raidio. The DJs are taking all the blame while there bosses are hiding.

At the end of the day, it very sad what happened, and its needs to be addressed. Management should be first then the DJ's.

It's a sad situation all the around. No one is to blame really but I've seen pranks go awry in my life and people do get hurt, so you have to be careful when you do one. It's not harmless fun and games.

Don?t have much of a comment out of respect for the family but for all we know the lady could have has other things going on, yes the DJ caused the chain of events but they did not kill her.

Not calling for their arrest but I think your nation needs to have a policy against attempting to call hospitals. Not every nation is as keen on this sort of thing and it was an international call.

I think it's naive to think that this is just a "prank". There is much more to that. When this makes the news all over the world, it's a whole different situation. I'm not blaming the DJs, blame human nature. Look at what's going on the the DJs right now. Same ****.

Before modern/social media blew up like this, everything seemed to be within reasonable limits when it came to such pranks, confined to smaller audiences. With the internet ruining people's lives and human nature being the reason of it, I don't see how it can't get worse for many more people. Those with the power to humiliate specific individuals are not taking responsibility because they ignore the severe impact the amount of emotional distress this might cause. You did something humiliating let's say 50 years ago, you could easily leave your area and start a new life. Now, anywhere you go, there is a way to easily dig up **** from you. There is no where left to go. You selfish people don't see it like that.

Like I said before, humans are not emotionally ready for this type of global attention. It's even worse when it's so ****ing humiliating.

You can get arrested for making certain type of prank calls in many places.
