xirtam
My local server is running Squid on Win7 in VMware Workstation, I did this at the time as it was the quickest way to get it working as I'm familiar with Squid set-up in windows. I'm eventually wanting to run 2/4 instances concurrently so Win7 in obviously this is not ideal. I have a little down time and was hoping to get this set-up in Linux making as small a footprint as possible. Ubuntu popped to mind as Squid is easy to setup on it but I'm think that isn't really ideal. So basically I'm looking for advice on what to use, also I'm not stuck on using Squid if there is something else that will work well under VMware. All I'm really looking to do is route traffic coming in to the server back to the router with several different local IP address as the router is most effective at filtering by IP. Maybe there is a much simpler what to do this? Any help would be greatly appreciated, cheers.
