Favicon in mobile site has a white background

In the mobile site, in the address bar, the favicon has the Neowin logoo on a white background. Why not make it a transarent PNG?

What device/os are you using. Sounds like your browser just doesn't support 24bit favico's.

Lool If it was a transparent PNG you wouldn't see anything. But anyway, Favicons are icons. I agree with Timan and believe it's more to do with your browser.

erm there is only one state of transparency and that is 'fully' transparent. Anything else is either with transparency, translucent or opaque. ;)
