Good Samaritan died protecting little girl

PRIEST RIVER, Idaho -- The family of a Priest River man killed in a hit-and-run crash have found some comfort knowing he died a hero.

56-year-old Scott Moore was helping a family who slid off the road when he was hit and killed along I-90 in Spokane Friday night.

The family in that car told Moore?s family Scott was pulling a little girl to safety from an oncoming car, when Scott was hit instead.

24-year-old Robert Dyer faces vehicular homicide charges in connection to Scott?s death.

Investigators said Dyer hit Scott with his Camaro, and then didn?t stop.

Scott leaves behind a family with three grandchildren, including a newborn who is just three weeks old.

The 9-year-old girl who Scott saved left a voicemail for Scott?s family calling him her ?angel?.

The family is planning a funeral for Scott next month in Saint Maries, Idaho.

Don't be silly, then only criminal would have vehicles, so why even have vehicles licenses and registration, why make it hard

for people to get vehicles in the first place, criminals would just break those laws anyway. (Two can play the stupid arguement game)

Regardless a vehicles primary purpose is not to kill. Anything can be used to kill, and in this case the drivers intent wasn't to

senselessly murder someone with his vehicle, he accidentally hit someone, then panicked and fled.

You get +2 murica points for trying though.

even though it's sad, at least there is some good in it as that's the ultimate sacrifice in giving your life to save someone else.

so he was potentially putting himself in danger to help another person and got killed in doing it.

That's a ridiculous argument. Without getting into an in-depth debate regarding guns it's clear that while a car can be dangerous its primary purpose isn't inherently dangerous. Guns however up the amount of danger significantly. Sure, they can be used purely at the range and as a hobby and that's all good, but it's ridiculous to compare them at all, never mind in a thread where no-one even mentioned guns. Over 30k posts and yet the above serves as nothing else but an attempt to derail a thread.

The part I don't understand was the guy stopped to help a family who's car had slid off the interstate (aka a freeway) and was pulling a little girl to safety. Why was the little girl on the middle of a freeway or was the camaro driving on the hard shoulder?
