It seems to me that some people are wrongly associating the abbreviation "UFO" with an alien spacecraft. If it's an object in the sky that's unidentified, then it's an unidentified flying object (UFO). It could be a military plane, a weather balloon, or an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).

As for the picture and video, it's hard to tell if the object is outside of the plane (or merely a reflection of something inside the plane). I don't think it's an alien spacecraft. To me, it doesn't make sense for an advanced alien race to visit Earth. What would they be doing that they can't do from a distance (e.g. high Earth orbit)?

According to most skeptics, if something is too clear, it's Photoshop. If it's too blurry, they want it more clear. No amount of evidence will ever convince someone that doesn't want to believe that aliens exist. My personal opinion, with the literally billions of galaxies with planets, it's impossible, mathematically for us to be alone. If we ARE an accident, with the age of the universe, another one happened before? us & since us. But if we aren't an accident, thus created, why not others?

Hey look a UFO!

It's like when you are browsing for porn, anything with the words "Homemade sex tape" usually means it will have THE worst framerate and quality of any video you've seen on the internet. It looks like most homemade sex tapes are being recorded on a Intel PII 333 with a webcam from 1997.

This is overreaching until we have a theory for the origin of life its all just speculation, Sure id bet 5$ on there being other life in the galaxy but its worse than doing statistics on the probability of intelligent life on planets when you've got a sample size of 1.

Call me back when you have a corpse or part of one that we can do dna analysis on or part of the ship, That's not too much to ask for.

You know why people say "fake"? Because they usually fugging are! UFOlogists have an incredibly shabby record when it comes to honesty.

Doesn't it ever occur to people who believe in UFOs, alien spacecraft, that considering that there are people who dedicate a lot of their time watching the skies with quality equipment the best we ever get blurring photos and shakey video? Why haven't any of the dedicated UFOlogists produced anything better? Perhaps because there is nothing of note to film? Hmm?

That is the best quality UFO image I have every seen, and it is a fake. It was done by Michael Shermer to illustrate how easy it is to make UFO images. He threw a hub cap off a hill and photoed it.

First off, Michael Shermer is a complete, know-nothing idiot.

Hubcap photos have been done many decades ago -- at least since the 1950's.

Secondly, just because some people have faked so-called UFOs, proves nothing.

There have been many instances of quackery by doctors.

Does this mean no one should trust any doctor ?

Because sometimes cancer is misdiagnosed, does that mean we should just ignore it ?

Hubcaps do not glow brightly in the dark, hover, suddenly accelerate straight up, cause electrical failures when close by, nor do they leave detectable radiation burns on the ground and landing marks.

You also do not realize that our wonderful 'governments' have deliberately created UFO hoaxes precisely to cause UFO reports and witnesses to be discredited.

This is called Disinformation.

If you had done any research, you'd know that many UFO photos and videos have in fact be stolen, confiscated by the Air Force, or other unknown agents, from those who photographed the UFO. And the witnesses have been threatened. These photos may just be the 'clear', detailed images you expect to see.

They would not be doing this, if there was simply nothing significant behind UFOs.

Because something can be faked, is not proof that every event is fake.

Because something can be faked, is not proof that every event is fake.

And a photo or video that could be faked is not sufficient evidence to prove that these objects exist never mind that they are alien in origin.

Of course we're not alone. but we're also not being visited by aliens

firstly we're not interesting enough to visit, secondly if aliens spent the enormous resources it would take to travel across the galaxy to get to us, it wouldn't be to passively watch us or to be friends with us, it would be tor ape our planet of resources. And if they where magically friendly aliens willing to spend a whole civilizations worth of resources epxloring space, they A: wouldn't stay hidden or B: would have advanced enough technology to not be detected and observe us from afar undetected.

Alien UFO's just isn't a likely scenario even if you stretch imagination to the limits. It's a fantasy and dream. but lets face it, even when we manage to make usable "hyperdrives", we're not leaving SOL to explorer and have fun, we're leaving to settle on new planets for resources and to make sure mankind will survive when the sun blows up or a gamma burst crispy fried our solar system or any other extinction level event that will hit us. We're not going out there to play friendly with the natives and hand out thanksgiving turkey.

First off, Michael Shermer is a complete, know-nothing idiot.

Really? Oh, because he is educated and destroys all this conspiracy garbage he's a "know-nothing idiot"? Typical. You know the truth and we're all just sheep right?

I doubt you've read any of his books, any of his articles, and spend exactly 0% of your time watching any of his lectures.

Im a skeptic for a reason, I need good credible proof or at least a clear logical explanation before Ill believe in such visitors are not from this planet. To say there are other planets with life on is credible but to say they have either the technology some people assume or the will to travel to such a backwards and war driven populace is not convincing in the least.

Even we send remote devices to other planets to learn about the biology and physics behind them but we clearly mark where the devices are from, neither do we hide their presence.Do you not think its a good assumption other similar civilizations would do the same?

So we should believe in the existence of extraterrestrial activity, on Earth, on the basis of disinformation? That's preposterous. I firmly believe that we are not alone in the universe and I'm a huge fan of science fiction but I don't let my interests cloud my judgment.

Why should I believe that a blurry object in a photo is an alien spacecraft? The blurry photo itself isn't verifiable evidence. I mean, you'd think people would get some nice high quality images considering the quality of cameras today but no... it's either really blurry or really small. And when someone questions you about it, an answer that basically says "Oh, the good pictures have been confiscated by the government to hide the truth." seems a little too convenient.

There's a reason why only a fraction of a tiny portion of the civilized world believes in the existence of extraterrestrial activity on Earth. It has no basis in reality because as far as we know, there's no evidence to support it. You don't need an alien spacecraft to explain power outages, bursts of electromagnetic radiation, or so-called "landing marks".

As for why a sufficiently advanced alien species would even need to visit Earth like this (and leave evidence of their activity) is beyond me.

We study cucumbers, mice and put make up on chimps. Are we really in a position to question why another species is doing what they do? We are an interesting bunch and we are almost at the point where we can totally destroy our planet. Why wouldn't intelligent life want to visit? And I'm sorry but those of you skeptics in this thread that say there has been no credible evidence, I don't think you want evidence and no matter what you get it will never be good enough.

There has been more than credible UFO and alien life evidence by ex Nasa workers, pilots, military personnel so on and so forth. But they are automatically dismissed as crazy. Remember the UFO Disclosure project? Some of the most credible people that worked for the US military and Nasa came forward asking for a congressional hearing, asking to be put under oath saying that the government and Nasa has been covering up alien life and contact for years. What liar asks to be put under oath? That isn't good enough? They said that as of 2010 we have catalogued 56 alien species and some even look like us. Then the Russian Prime minister says, off the record that the amount of aliens already living among us would panic the people. Still not good enough right?

So please forgive me if I don't believe that those asking for evidence really want it. The reality speaks to the contrary. Added to that, if you don't believe in aliens, you must believe in creation. If you do believe in aliens, you must believe in creation. Why? Because as I've stated, if this all was an accident what rational person would believe, given the size and age of the universe that we were the only accident? And if we are the only ones, it was created because accidents happen more than once. A deliberate act, doesn't.

We have zero evidence of alien life, A sample size of one (ourselves) and no theory of the origin of life.

Again overreaching.

How do you know we don't have all that already? You are a smart person, at least a reasonable from what I've seen. Yet you haven't addressed any of the important points I brought up. Do you not believe the people that worked for the military and Nasa? I don't know what they have but they do and they say we have had alien contact for years. You can't ask me because I don't know. I'm just smart enough to listen to the people that do know or have had first hand experience.

What about Lockheed Martins Skunk Works Project? What about Ben Rich? He is the head of the program and have you seen or heard what he says about extra terrestrial life?

?Jim, we have things out in the desert that are fifty (50) years beyond what you could possibly comprehend. If you have seen it on Star Wars or Star Trek, we?ve been there done that, or decided it was not worth the effort?

(Source: direct comments by Ben Rich to Jim Goodall via telephone call at the USC medical center approximately one week before Ben passed away on January 5th 1995)

Read up on the history if you have the time. It isn't nut cases that believe in alien life. It's the most rational intelligent people in the world. Unfortunately, we are on a forum of skeptics that won't believe an alien existed even if they met one. They would doubt their own eyes. Doesn't mean it isn't real tho.

Another great quote

?We already have the means to travel among the stars, but these technologies are locked up in black projects and it would take an act of GOD to ever get them out to benefit humanity?

How do you know we don't have all that already?

I dont and i wont belive until its presented that or equally compelling evidance

u are a smart person, at least a reasonable from what I've seen. Yet you haven't addressed any of the important points I brought up. Do you not believe the people that worked for the military and Nasa?

No because thats an appeal to authority llogical fallicy, Just because you can find one person or ten out of all those that claim to have ever worked there does not mean you can dismiss the findings of the enitre orginisation.

Its the same thing again people can be mistaken.

Just like the people who belive in christianity

I told you what evidance you need, Its certnly not mkuch to ask if theyre as common as being claimed.

Well first I'd like to say I'm glad you aren't being as snarky as you and the rest of this place has been. For some reason it seems that people can't disagree civilly.

What I will say tho is that you are free to believe what you want, that's what's great about life. You are, unfortunately taking this conversation all over the place and speaking in a roundabout way that proves nothing. The people that worked for the military and Nasa weren't janitors, they were high ranking officials and they had the clearance to know what they are talking about.

Second, Ben Rich and Skunk Works were given government grants to work on the things he talks about, again, not a janitor. He and his crew were tasked to head up special projects by the CIA, the Air Force and other government and military branches. But I understand that you would have more evidence and more authority than the people that are paid and given an unlimited budget to research and oversee these things.

But again, you are free to believe what you want. If I bring up the Russian Prime minister, your response* will be "So?? If I bring up the high ranking officials in God knows how many government and military agencies your response will be "So?" No matter what I say, the response will be "So?? So, I don't know what else to say besides the evidence is overwhelming. Well, to me at least.

Also, look up Colonel Phillip J Corso and tell me he's crazy. He said that most of the technology we use today came from the Rosewell crash. He actually oversaw the project. Why hasn't he been accused of being a liar? He's a high ranking military official and he confirms that aliens exist. Please tell me he is crazy. Even had a Dateline special about him.

C-Squarez, there is not overwhelming evidence for any of this. You still have to make a leap of faith to buy into believing any of it.

You're choosing to believe it as I have not see any evidence through which one can reason out the same conclusion you seem to have come to.

Of course that doesn't necessarily mean you are wrong.

i swear you people would ruin a kids birthday party because you would argue the air in the ballons could not really be a true form of oxygen or it's compounds needed to inflate the wall thickness of the red ones. or something f_cked up. now i remember why i come to this site, it's a train wreck. i have to look at the comments, no normal human being would ever think these up. you people are the main attraction at freak-o-rama-fest. keep it up, i'm sure there's someone out there studying this type of abnormal human behavior.

And this is different form the neurosurgeon who claims he saw the afterlife how ? He can say whatever he wants until he proves these claims his opinion is worthless.

And by prove I mean provide an alien corpse or part of a corpse or some technology/material of alien origin.

Id also like to know how this alien civilization was able to travel here from another star system literally trillions of miles yet couldn't even land on this rock without crashing.

because his claims are so ridiculous people are just ignoring him.

if you know anything about technology and development you'd see that.

Also, wouldn't the TCAS on the plane detect if an object was close to it?

I would imagine the TCAS would be enabled on an airliner flying over populated areas at night, and surely they wouldn't just ignore an object flying next to it.

On all American and Eurpoean flights TCAS is enabled all the time, it's a legal requirement for flying there. Not sure about other territories though.

    • Carol, Windows XP is still being used today only in a small capacity. It is still the best OS there is due to its backwards compatibility with other older software, the customization features, and friendly UI, and people often feel that upgrading to newer OSes is cost prohibitive in specialized Industries or developing countries, so the market share as of now is around 0.2%-0.3%
    • If I could, I would commemorate it the best way possible: Replacing old machines that are still running Windows XP with something more modern, stable and better.     Noone and nothing should be running Windows XP in 2026.
    • Google's new hand-wave reCAPTCHA can be bypassed with a stock photo by Ivan Jenic Image: Screenshot Google is testing a new reCAPTCHA method that asks you to wave at your camera to prove you're human. So, besides solving puzzles and reading distorted text, you can now use your computer’s camera to pass the verification test. When the hand gesture verification is triggered, your browser asks for camera access and prompts you to perform a simple gesture, like a wave or an open palm. Google says it records a short video of the movement and uses AI to extract 21 hand-knuckle coordinates to complete the verification process. The video is then immediately deleted, and Google swears it doesn't keep it. The process alone can be uncomfortable for people who wouldn’t want their biometric data, which hand scans technically qualify as, recorded. But it gets even more nuanced, as early testers discovered that the new hand-waving reCAPTCHA can be passed with a simple stock image. A user on X tested the new challenge using a stock image of a hand fed through OBS Virtual Camera, and it passed. I wanted to verify it, so I tried the same thing. It took me a few tries and a few stock images, but in the end, I was also able to pass the test. I simply had to readjust the stock image of a generic person waving inside OBS, and Google’s mechanism registered it as a legitimate hand gesture. Once again, it didn’t even have to be a video or an AI-generated hand animation. Given the simplicity of the process, the entire action can be automated in minutes. All it takes is a simple Python script to render the new reCAPTCHA method obsolete. And it doesn’t even have to be an AI bot, which is usually used for solving puzzles and other verification methods. The new reCAPTCHA method is still in its early phase, and Google will, hopefully, update its AI to at least reject still images. However, this incident, combined with users’ initial skepticism about Google’s practices regarding user data, likely won’t make too many people wave at the camera anytime soon.
