Secretary Hillary Clinton was hospitalized today after a doctors doing a follow-up exam discovered a blood clot had formed, stemming from the concussion she sustained several weeks ago.

She is being treated with anti-coagulants and is at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital so that they can monitor the medication over the next 48 hours.

Her doctors will continue to assess her condition, including other issues associated with her concussion. They will determine if any further action is required.

Clinton suffered a concussion earlier this month after she hit her head when she fainted because of dehydration from a stomach virus, a Clinton aide said.

No ambulance was called and she was not hospitalized, according to a state department official.

The stomach virus had caused Clinton to cancel a planned trip to North Africa and the United Arab Emirates, and also her scheduled testimony before Congress at hearings on the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya.

Clinton originally fell ill from a stomach virus following a whirlwind trip to Europe at the beginning of the month, which caused such severe dehydration that she fainted and fell at home.

According to a U.S. official, the secretary had two teams of doctors, including specialists, examine her. They also ran tests to rule out more serious ailments beyond the virus and the concussion. During the course of the week after her concussion, Clinton was on an IV drip and being monitored by a nurse, while also recovering from the pain caused by the fall.

seems fishy as i saw her on a recent report walking just fine. also strange how she was supposed to testify on benghazi but now won't have to. Coincidence? I think not.

Exactly! Way to avoid unpleasantness before the end of her term.

exactly. how unfortunate she won't be testifying now....I swear the Obama administration continues to cover up the crap they do. Can't believe people actually voted for these people.

She's been off her feet for weeks, which puts even younger people at risk for throwing a blood clot in/from the legs. Many clinicians put such patients on daily Lovenox (a blood thinner) injections while they're bedridden and for a couple of weeks after after discharge (it's patient/caregiver injectable.) Thing here is we don't really know where the clot is yet.

Lovenox is often contraindicated by other meds or certain conditions like a closed head injury. There are cases where such drugs turned a slow leak in/around the brain into a gusher. Not good. Without the Lovenox etc. you get the higher odds of a clot forming elsewhere.

She lost the coin flip.

You people are seriously saying she's faking a blood clot? Wow. You should all be ashamed with yourselves. What kind of twisted morality is that? Blood clots are serious and can kill people quite easily and you right-wing crazies are conspiring that she's faking it? Turn Fox News off.

I think she looks weird with long hair worn like that. Like a young girl with an old face. With her other hairstyles (shorter or a more classic brushing like this) she looks a lot more authoritative.

Hope she gets well soon though!

Right cerebral venous sinus thrombosis, a clot in one of the major venous channels between the brain and skull - in the pic below her clot is in the large vessel at the bottom.

Generally, 58% recover, 8.5% die and the rest have some degree of impairment. Specifically, those over 35-40 have much higher levels of death or impairment.

Who cares if she dies? Not my relative or friend, so not my problem.

Really?! Good grief, people want to find conspiracies in everything. It's posts like these that make me embarrassed to be a member of the human race.

Yeah well we'll all say that when half of your family dies in a car crash. That is a horrible thing to say, every death is a sad thing.

Not really. If we get sad about every death, we would go into depression. Death happens, if they aren't related to me I don't think about it to much.

I don't get sad for every death, but I do care.

How convenient that you attack the people pointing out the cover up....think you testify now.

It's a rather convenient clot IMO. And I think theyarecomingforyou has some knowledge of what's going on..and perhaps he even was a key player in the lack of security. I believe we may need to have him go testify before congress to see how deep the rabbit hole goes...

The TX-NR7100 is a THX Certified 9.2-channel receiver offering up to 100 W per channel (8 ohms, 2 channels driven). It supports Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and IMAX Enhanced formats, with flexible configurations such as 5.1.4 or 7.1.2 speaker layouts. A key highlight is its built-in Dirac Live Room Correction which should help optimize sound based on your room and its acoustics. • A different thing with Russia. When you say is it better, depends on things. It is better that we don't have the E.U making rules and laws that have nothing to do with them. Is the trading part better? No, that is really mucked up, but then we knew that was going to happen and we would have make agreements, like we do with other parts of the world. Freedom of movement is certainly better, but could be improved, we still need more control over our borders. do you live in the U.K?
    • So what am I quoting from them? I never listened to what Farage or his cronies said. I wanted the U.K to leave the E.u years before the referendum and it had nothing to do with Farage and his cronies. So what country do you live in? Did we work much better together? We were always at logger heads with the E.U because we disagreed with them so much. Maggie was always on at them. I would have thought the E.U was glad to get rid of us as we stopped the integration or made it a two tier. Now without us they can integrate more. I would not have voted out if it was just a trading block and we can still work together on somethings.

    • Apple reportedly looks to blacklisted Chinese memory chips as RAM prices climb by Karthik Mudaliar Image via Apple Apple is reportedly trying to get a clearance from the Trump administration to buy memory from ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) to get some relief from soaring DRAM prices. As per a report by the Financial Times, Apple approached the Commerce Department more than a month ago and also spoke to other officials and allies in Washington. For starters, CXMT is a company that's already been placed on the Pentagon's list of Chinese military companies. The Chinese company is the country's top DRAM maker. For Apple, the timing is certainly awkward but not surprising. Tim Cook had recently warned that Apple would have to raise prices because AI companies are buying up large amounts of memory for data centers, and just like that, Apple raised MacBook and iPad prices. Micron also recently revealed that customers have committed billions of dollars to secure memory supply years in advance, which shows us how aggressive securing infrastructure has become. This gives suppliers such as Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron more leverage, while pushing hardware makers to look for alternatives. CXMT is one of those alternatives, but not the simplest one. Apple has spent many years trying to diversify parts of its supply chain away from China, especially for final assembly, while still depending heavily on Chinese manufacturing and suppliers. Even domestic brands from China are moving towards CXMT and YMTC instead of relying on Samsung, Micron, and SK Hynix. For Apple, though, it would invite more scrutiny than local Chinese companies. For now, this is more like a lobbying effort rather than a confirmed supply deal. There's no official statement from either of the parties. What is clearer, though, is the pressure behind such a request. AI demand has certainly made hardware a bottleneck, and companies are trying everything they can to bring things back to normal, even if that means making politically sensitive choices.
