I've lost count of the number of my birds that have been killed by cats.

Just as feral as rodents IMO. Annoys the hell out of me when people let their cats roam free at night.

But hey, my birds don't count I suppose, even though it costs me money to get a license to keep them. Can't upset the cat owners though can we?

If dog owners have to keep their animals locked up, why not cat owners?

Why would we exterminate something to keep something from being exterminated? More specifically - why would we choose to reward the weaker species when Evolution (that has proven to work so well) rewards the strongest?

This is the way things have worked forever, why don't we just exterminate Humans? We ruin everything far worse than any Cat, Lion or Sabre-toothed Tiger can.

Get over yourself Gareth Morgan. You don't like Cats, we get it, **** off.

Well of course, why should we protect native animals when the introduced varieties are better hunters. Won't be long before the native species are in the same boat as said sabre toothed tigers. Much rather see native animals than spoilt furry predators. If you don't think they are predators by nature, you are being delusional.

Cats are introduced species, they aren't part of the natural ecosystem. They come in and wreck havoc on the local populations that haven't evolved to defend/hide/outsmart/outwit/survive this predator. Kiwis for example can't even fly, what defence would they have?

Evolution isn't always about brute strength or force. Arguably, it rarely is. But That is a much bigger issue/topic to cover.

If you actually believe in your arguments, then I suppose you agree we should exterminate Humans? - I'm not making a point by asking a question, but the word Cat and Human are interchangeable in your posts and in fact I believe worse with Humans.

Edit: Also one can argue since Humans are a part of Evolution then Cats being brought into the ecosystem by us is also a causation of that very system.

Edit 2: Grammar.

I would make that argument if I thought the life of a cat and the life of a human were of equal value. I don't. If we were talking about killing of rats or mice because they are a pest, would you object so strongly? I doubt it. Cats are pets we find cute/amusing that is why the idea of giving them up upsets people.

Humans are responsible for some devastating effects on the environment. Perhaps one difference is we actually can change our ways, a cat only knows how to kill, it is simple instinct.

Human actions can be put down to greed, stupidity, ignorance, arrogance. Maybe we'll change one day. Probably not, though.

Would be nice if you had read my previous post as well, why should my pets be in danger because of your pets?

Also the word you are looking for is then. But I digress.

Yes.

Ah, thanks. I always mix up the two.

why should my pets be in danger because of your pets?

Why should I not get to have my pet because yours is in danger?

Ah, thanks. I always mix up the two.

As long as you keep your pet locked up, there is no danger to my pets, which are caged. Therein lies the problem with the majority of cat owners, they let them out to roam free.

If they are caged, then where is the danger?

I personally don't let my Cats roam free for two reasons:

1) It's too easy for them to get hurt or killed, and they might breed.

2) I don't own any Cats.

If they are caged, then where is the danger?

I guess you've never kept birds have you. I've had cats jump onto the cage to get at the birds, it frightens them and they fly into the walls trying to get away. Birds are still dead.

Why should someone else's pet be able to enter my property and cause this type of damage? I'm also not allowed to defend them as that counts a cruelty to animals.

I've lost a lot of money dealing with these vicious little pets. Exotic birds don't come cheap.

^ Few domestic cats will kill -- as long as they are fed and well cared for.

Cats and dogs have natural hunting instincts, that have everything to do with playing, and nothing really to do with eating, except that in nature they'd learn to eat their kill as food. Domesticated cats and dogs will often kill an animal and not even try to eat it, because they don't recognize its for eating. They catch it, kill it, and then they don't even know what to do with it.

One could argue that, IF cats were the ones that evolved and built boats/planes and flew them to NZ, humans are evolutions little

monster also, just like the murderous little kittens, the only difference is the cats are getting a free ride, they're a welfare species of

evolution, do you really want to support that? :shifty:

good luck *******s getting to sleep with all the birds peepin and skwakin!!! and I hope you love rats in the kitchen and mice in your underwear!!!!!

and this cat is gonna eat that guy that wants that and then puke him out at the golden corral... right on the front door!!!!! in front of ALL the customers.

Dogs kill birds too!!!! what a dumbass that he is

If you are referring to me, dogs can't get into the property, can't climb trees etc.

But you go on thinking that cats are special. I'll stick to trying to keep the native birds from becoming extinct.

Which is one thing that cats are not likely to suffer from.

No not you... there are dogs bred/trained to kill birds and only birds.

I had a dog named Ginger that loved to climb trees. She would do that when she had to get a flea bath. Also I've had dogs that were Houdini about any kinda enclosures.

Birds are stupid .... they need to smarten up or die...

where do you think the phrase "bird brain" came from???!!!!

There are dogs trained to retrieve birds after they've been shot by hunters. Fox terriers and the like I think were bred for that purpose. They are trained to pick the birds un in their mouths and bring them back to the owners.

I don't know of any dogs with the necessary agility to climb a tree.

Errr... birds are an important part of the ecosystem. Their intelligence isn't in dispute.

Birds are part of the food chain, that's thier purpose. TO BE EATEN BY PREDATORS!

Do you want all lizards and fish dead that eat precious flies?

    • Huh? I have an Aeron Remastered and the backrest cannot go up or down (only the lumbar is adjustable). Yes, the Doro C300 Pro V2's backrest can be locked, but the locking mechanism is so weak that when you recline and lean back the backrest moves with your body. I think the whole purpose of this chair is that all of the moving parts (except for the rocking, which can be locked in place) are supposed to move with your body, as you shift your weight, that's why I couldn't get used to it. Some people might like it though. Its redeeming factor is the price, I mean it costs like a quarter of what a new Herman MIller (Aeron) costs.
    • Well done Massie. This is how to treat the Fox News filth.
    • I notice how you dodged the questions I had about the racism shown by ignorant, gullible, cowardly people when the Poles, like your partner, were the immigrants. Ahem. I wonder how you'd feel if native born Brits suddenly treated you as "dirty crooked immigrant" for being half Trump-American? If they ordered you to leave and "go back to your corrupt country" (on the other side of the Atlantic), would you go? The truth is based on facts as supported by evidence. As requested in your previous posts, I have used the facts in your own post to show everyone the truth.
    • US citizens are paying to their government, who could use that to fund healthcare and tuition and relieve the costs of these for citizens instead of making tax breaks that overwhelmingly favor the rich. I'm not saying that tariffs are the correct solution, but what else would they be used for? What else could Trump have in mind for wanting them, if he hasn't figured out that labor costs are higher in the US?
