Bullshots and unrealistic renders? It's not like The Witcher 1/2 are draw dropping. I don't think CDPR have the time/talent to pull of some of what they showed (talent purely on a technical/graphical front, they are a very talented studio).

I wouldn't care if it looked like a PS1 game, so long as the game is fun as hell. I am buying it based on story and fun factor, not graphics. ###### graphics. I aint no graphics ######.

A bit hyperbolic? Open world games gain a lot from their immersion and a believable, breathing world. Just look at GTA5. From what I've seen from The Witcher 3, the trees blowing in the wind, lots of wildlife, nice water effects, and weather sure as hell make for a better experience.

A PS1 game?  :/

I was exaggerating to point out that the graphics are at the bottom of my priority list. For me, priority is game play, story, bug free, fast load times, controls, accuracy, and community . Some of the animations in this game with the characters look like old school animations from the PS3 and PS2 days. But I am not bothered by it so long as the game pulls me in, which this one will do. So just because the game on the PS4 (and X1) are inferior to PC, I don't give two craps. I am getting it on console.

yeah, you made that point abandantly clear.

and yes, i will take story and gameplay over graphics anyday.

i am mad at them for overpromising on PC and (most likely) not being able to deliver.    once you got the gameplay AND the story sorted, of course the graphics matter.

if they don't deliver on PC (if it will look similar to console, only at higher res) i am going for console version too.  since i would prefer to play on my couch on big screen with a controller.

If they don't deliver on PC, I'll just mod the game until it looks the way it should have  :D and that's only possible on PC anyway.

I can always play it with my 360 controller too. CDPR will have lost my trust though after all their denials, BIG TIME.

"To sum up, there are only a few differences between PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. They are not aimed at changing the configuration; instead their purpose is to solve certain problems."

If it gets a dx12 renderer post release I'd be sad, but I doubt that'll happen.

... why? If W3 gets DX12 post-release that means better performance on XBONE and PC. No downside to be sad about.

The pre-load on Steam is smaller for some reason. At 21.3GB for me.

Hopefully not because of the rumor that extra content suppose to be available only for GOG Galaxy users, that is now making the rounds on reddit as the result of this: http://i.imgur.com/wLTkbs2.png

Would be sad to get the downgrade and then find out that what CDPR's community coordinator said, is also a lie:

"CD PROJEKT RED & GOG.com would like to announce that it will be followed by 16 DLCs available to all gamers, regardless of their platform of choice."

Witcher 3 Xbox One Can at Times Match PS4's 1080p With Dynamic Scaling

Polish developer CD Projekt Red on Monday released a new gameplay trailer for the Xbox One version of RPG The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt that reveals a new dynamic scaling feature to improve its visuals.

The developer announced previously that the Xbox One edition runs natively at 900p, but the new dynamic scaling feature appears to allow the game to reach 1080p in certain instances.

The video was captured directly from an Xbox One. There's no doubt that it looks quite impressive, but CD Projekt Red says it's still "fighting for every line of code" to improve overall performance even more.

"The video you're now watching is grabbed directly from an Xbox One console. We've been working to give gamers an even better experience on Xbox One and, on day one, we'll bring you dynamic scaling from 900p to 1080p," the studio said in a statement.

"We're not much more than a week before launch, but we're still fighting for every line of code," it added. "We want gamers to get the best possible experience we can deliver."

Earlier today, CD Projekt Red confirmed that, over the course of the past two weeks, it was able to increase technical performance for The Witcher 3 across all platforms. In addition to additional efforts in this area leading up to the game's release next week, the studio has started working "full speed" on upcoming expansions Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine.

Great news for all gamers!!!

I will 100% buy this title and am very anxious to play.

However, given the nature of single player titles in the last few gens, it's best to wait for a GotY edition with all the DLC and bug fixes.

LOL

so which one are you going to do?

personally, i played witcher 2 twice, so i will play this one on release, and then play the GotY edition when that comes out :)

no way i will be able to wait for a year, before playing it.

I wouldn't care if it looked like a PS1 game, so long as the game is fun as hell. I am buying it based on story and fun factor, not graphics. ###### graphics. I aint no graphics ######.

    • Hello, I have used a few TEAM Group SSDs, USB flash drives, and Micro SDXC cards in the past. They all seemed to work fine. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
    • "just $100 per TB"? Just? Are we trying to make this seem like the new normal? Kinda weird to make it sound like that is not a ridiculously expensive asking price.
    • The reviews you refer to mean nothing. Where there is no journalism there is no reason to call the gaming media's opinion pieces "reviews". For GP games there is indeed a metric for success - increasing subscriptions. Which turns in revenue. The only circumstance in which subs do not rise when great is being released is a Game Pass system where the company is close to fully saturated with customers in a subscription. However, in that case as the theory goes you spend aplenty in all kind of games - from shady live service cash cows and customer offending agitprop crap in purple colours to robust and entertaining single player games. And keep a solid level of profitability. Ignoring the simply innocuous but mid games MGS has released primarily of the second kind.
    • Report: Microsoft to use AWS to help GitHub deal with a major surge in demand by Pradeep Viswanathan Thanks to the surge of coding AI agents, GitHub's usage has skyrocketed over the past 12 months. To meet this demand, GitHub started with a plan in October 2025 to increase capacity by 10x. However, by early this year, the company realized that it needed 30x scale. This rapid growth has caused severe strain on the platform's reliability, resulting in several small outages over the past few months. In April, GitHub published a long blog post explaining the steps it is taking to resolve these reliability issues. In the post, the company also confirmed that it is working toward a multi-cloud architecture for better resilience. Today, Business Insider reported that GitHub is turning to Amazon Web Services to help deal with a major surge in AI-driven coding activity. It is important to note that GitHub is still in the process of moving completely to the Azure cloud. The current plan is to move the platform fully to Azure by 2027 so that it can scale better as per developer demand. Therefore, the current decision to utilize AWS might be part of a short-term plan to meet immediate demand. A Microsoft spokesperson confirmed that GitHub is using multiple cloud providers with the following statement: For Microsoft, the decision highlights the operational pressure behind the AI boom. GitHub has to stay reliable for developers at a time when rivals such as Codex, Cursor, Claude Code, and other AI coding tools are gaining attention. And the decision to use AWS for computing capacity seems practical given the circumstances.
