I could provide pages upon pages of games horribly broken on PC at launch or long after launch and though I'm sure you're joking, I really wish you guys would just shut the ###### up.

To be fair that actually has nothing to do with those of us who play on pc and everything to do with the game devs.

It's not like we want low quality bug ridden ports. I'm looking at you Batman: Arkham Knight.

Has anyone heard of a release date for the new patch?

The only thing I've heard is they're possibly waiting for console parity which is waiting for certification. And since it's a huge patch it will likely be some time next week.

Despite the fact that on Tuesday I think it was, that they said it would be "soon". I guess they're using blizzards definition for that particular word.

Full patch notes have been released. It's a long list so I'll put it in spoilers:

    • Introduces an alternative movement style for Geralt. To enable, go to the Gameplay\Movement Response submenu.
    • Fixes a rare issue where the player's horse would not fall to the ground properly.
    • Fixes a rare issue where the player could be locked into the aiming animation if hit while throwing a bomb on horseback.
    • Fixes a rare issue with an infinite loading screen in the Ladies of the Wood quest.
    • Includes a variety of collision fixes.
    • Fixes an issue where Wild Hunt warriors would remain present even after the player completed the main storyline.
    • Fixes an issue where players could repeatedly buy foreign currency from a loan shark and sell it at the Vivaldi Bank.
    • Fixes an exploit whereby players could loot gold from a single chest more than once.
    • Fixes an issue whereby some skills were not properly removed after the player used the Potion of Clearance.

    • Fixes a rare issue where players could not talk to, or play gwent with, the innkeeper at the Inn at the Crossroads.
    • Includes a number of wording and spelling fixes in multiple localized versions.
    • Introduces a number of improvements in the game streaming system. Players should experience fewer blurred textures, NPC spawn times should be markedly reduced, and there should be an overall improvement in the speed with which game assets are loaded. Streaming system improvements should be most noticeable on consoles and systems with non-SSD drives.
    • Improves performance in the swamps of the No Man's Land region.
    • Fixes an issue whereby the presence of fog could adversely affect game performance.

Bolded some of the notes that I like.

Also because the patch is coming with localization changes it will be quite large. I've heard anywhere from 1.5 to 2gb in size. Although they did say the localization changes are optional so I'm not sure how that's going to work exactly.

And last but not least there is still no ETA although it's likely to be early this next week.

Great game! Finished playing and all the DLCs...waiting for more!

did you play on console or pc?    if pc, gog or steam?     i also want to see the play time, since my gog reported time vs ingame reported time vs what i really played (i think)  felt very different.

I played the PC version on GOG. I spent over 200 hours on it getting all the the armor and exploring everything and completing the monster contracts. Next to Skyrim, it is one of the few games where I actually explored every nook and cranny of the map without getting bored!

So. Did you see the difference in the game time reported by gog client and inside the game itself?

Patch is out for consoles apparently. Some are showing downloads in the range from 5.5 to 7.5gb.

Still not out for pc.

hmm, didn't all earlier patches came at the same time, or earlier on PC.

anyway,  i am almost tempted to give it another playthrough after the patch...  but i better wait, i don't want to waste so much time...  well, i do, but it will not be wise at all.

i will replay closer to the expansion pack release date....

meanwhile, i am tempted to play witcher 1.... since i never played it, just looked at parts of youtube playthough... trying to get at least the important story cinematic.

is the witcher 1 EE really that bad?    do you think i will enjoy it after witcher 3?

actually, does not matter, i might give it a go, it is not like i am taking much risk, if i don't like it

EDIT:  9.99 on GOG???  you kidding me?   it was like 1.99 when witcher 3 came out (or close to it, maybe 2.99)

Yeah. Usually they release the patch for pc first. But for some reason this time it was held back for console parity and now they're getting it first..

I won't have time to play today (or this weekend even) so it doesn't affect me but they could have released the patch a week and a half ago for pc. That's kind of annoying, though.

It's 2.1GB on GoG.

Updating in Galaxy doesn't seem to work right now, it briefly shows a 7.5GB download which fails.

why such difference between steam and gog????    seems fishy.

downloading gog now.

ok, gog patch asks for 7GB to install.

guess it is all down to compression they use!

what? gog galaxy showed nothing.

i got the patches from gog website.  installed.

go back to the gog website, download links removed.  shows "coming soon" now!

if i run witcher 3 it shows, i lost all my user settings, but the version is 1.07

why the hell they removed it? think it is a bad version, or they are just waiting for a set time/date, even though it is clearly ready, and probably have being for a while.

Console players are reporting a lot of issues with the patch. Which is probably why it's been pulled. Go figure.

As for the size. It contains a lot of localization changes in sound files.

    • So how did you solve the problem? Disabling Secure Boot isn’t a solution.
    • Another devilish issue surrounding these certificates is what can happen with old, unsuspecting PCs that nevertheless have Secure Boot enabled. In my case, it was a Dell with a 3rd-gen Core chip (so about 13 years old). As of the last few weeks, it was suddenly BSOD'g within about 5 minutes of booting. Turns out it was because of MS's "Secure-Boot-Update" scheduled task, which is scheduled to run 5 minutes after login. It's explained in gory detail here (this is not my post, but it was where I found the answer), but the short version is that this legacy system would need fairly elaborate, manual certificate intervention since MS's automatic cert update method cannot work. How to do that is linked late in the thread. https://www.bleepingcomputer.c...od-caused-by-scheduled-task Secure Boot wasn't at all important for this particular PC, so I disabled it to be done with the problem.

Winhance 26.06.12 changelog: Features Builder Mode — build a Winhance config file or autounattend.xml without changing anything on the PC you're sitting at. Flip the new mode switcher to Builder, set everything the way you want it, and save the result as a Winhance config or an autounattend file ready for deployment on other machines. Sponsors & Supporters page — the exit donation dialog is gone. In its place, an in-app page (heart icon or the More menu) recognizes the businesses and individual supporters who keep Winhance free. It works offline and is fully localized. Change History — Winhance now keeps a receipt of everything it does. ChangeHistory.txt records every setting change (before and after values) and every app install or removal, with clear headers for config imports and bulk actions. Open it from the More menu. Hebrew language support — Winhance is now available in 29 languages. New Explorer customizations: desktop icon visibility toggles, This PC folder visibility, an icon cache size setting, and automatic thumbnail cache cleanup. New "All apps view" setting for the redesigned Windows 11 Start menu, and the Windows 11 system tray icons setting is now a dropdown with more control. App-local UI zoom — press Ctrl +/-/0 or use Ctrl+MouseWheel to scale the whole app, just like a browser. New External Apps: EA app, Ubisoft Connect, Battle.net, Rockstar Games Launcher, PowerShell, and Helium Browser. Bug Fixes Layouts no longer clip when the Windows text size slider is set above 100%. Accessibility: Narrator now announces setting names on toggles and dropdowns, previously unlabeled buttons are labeled, and progress updates are announced. Silent updates now respect your custom install location instead of reverting to the default. Cancel in Review Mode no longer clears your app selections. OneNote is now detected correctly for Win32 Click-to-Run installs. Clean Start Menu applies more reliably by also writing the group policy path. WinGet errors are no longer silent — error details now show in the terminal output. Fixed a startup crash on older Windows builds caused by a .NET runtime regression. Config import now converts power setting values correctly and no longer re-applies an already-active power plan. Improvements App icons load noticeably faster and cover almost everything now, including legacy capabilities and optional features — they come from a dedicated, checksum-validated icon repository and are fetched in parallel. Software & Apps polish: per-icon tooltips, extra table columns, an app sort dropdown, relocated search, and a cleaner compact view. A warning now appears when the Connected Devices Platform Service is set to Manual or Disabled, since some Windows features depend on it. • Of course the problem was Secure Boot's new certificates. Install media created by the official Media Creation Tool is already signed with a valid certificate from Microsoft, so maybe that certificate isn't "up-to-date" enough for machines with the new ones installed in the UEFI. There's really no other logical explanation.
