Brief character synopsis, comics version. May vary here, especially Peter Quill.

Drax the Destroyer: genetically engineered to kill Thanos. Just point him in the enemy's direction & stand back.

Gamora: green (sexy) alien female, captured as a child by Thanos after he exterminated her race. Thanos raises & trains her as a weapon, and she's a damned good one. She eventually turns on Thanos..

Groot: extraterrestrial, sentient tree-like creature who originally tried to gather humans for experimentation, but eventually joined the Guardians. Large, powerful, and able to regenerate if destroyed so long as a fragment remains that can take root. This can happen rapidly.

Rocket Raccoon: engineered anthropomorphic raccoon like creature. Most of his kind, of various animal stocks, are smart and used as companions, caretakers etc. Rocket becomes captain of a starship, is a master tactician and likes guns. A lot. More than a lot.

Star-Lord: Peter Quill, an astronaut who unbeknownst to him is half alien, gets recruited into a stellar police force while serving on a space station. Leader of the Guardians. Tough, and sometimes deceptive & manipulative.

The team has other transient members, including Iron Man. Not likely, yet.

Amazing. Simply, amazing. I really like how they made it comedic but serious at the same time, just like The Avengers. And the walkman scene? Perfect. It really grounds the movie in reality. It's amazing what Marvel has done with their characters and universe. I haven't been this excited for a movie since The Avengers and I can't wait to see how it all ties into The Avengers 3. Hopefully, we'll see Thanos by then.

      Shocker! It would be crazy to be ready to introduce a "fold" phone but have no plans happening for a followup model.

      XBOX is at the end of its generational life cycle and wasn't selling much anyway. They need to figure out the pricing for XBOX Helios. However, I'm not buying the DRAM shortage with AI preferring HBM. I think it's industry gouging.
