I thought it was pretty smart, actually. He's obviously very passionate about the role. Passionate enough to go to that length to get the role. I'm glad they casted someone like that.

I'm really excited for this movie because it's going to show people that the Marvel cinematic universe isn't limited to Earth and the other realms from Thor. It's going to show them that there's a whole slew of other characters out there. They're heroes, villains, and in between. The director was smart to include the scene with the Walkman. It grounds the movie in reality so people don't feel weird about seeing a talking tree and raccoon (not that I think they felt weird about it in the first place).

 

It'll be interesting to see how

S.H.I.E.L.D. fits into the movie. I haven't seen Captain America: The Winter Soldier yet so maybe that will shed some light.
