Winter Storm Nemo is now poised to become the latest example of a powerful, potentially historic, February storm.

Blizzard warnings have now been issued from parts of southern and eastern New England, including Boston, Hartford and Providence, to the New York City metro area and Long Island.

We lay out the forecast of heavy snow on this page, and layout the threats from damaging winds, coastal flooding, and travel impact on the following pages.

The heaviest snow totals by early Sunday morning are expected in New England from coastal Maine to Connecticut, as well as parts of Upstate New York, where over one foot of snow is expected! Some locations, particularly in coastal New England, may top two feet of storm total snow! The following cities are in the threat for at least one foot of snow:

Boston

Hartford

Providence

Portland, Maine

two feet of snow is historic? lol. That's a mere dusting to us in the midwest.

its on the east coast, anything that happens there is according to the people there and the media the biggest deal ever. My favorite is when the exact same storm goes across the Midwest before it gets there isn't news worthy, and all of the sudden its a big deal. Makes sense, because the 50+ million people that live in just Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio are a "small market", and nobody would notice.

I wish they wouldn't ****ing name a winter storm. The weather channel is the ONLY place that does it, they started it this year. It's stupid.

and there are so many storms, but they only seem to name the ones that are going towards the north east.... and the names are just stupid... when you have this many storms moving it's hard to know what they are talking about, at least with hurricanes there are just a few of them

and #nemo? comon, some little fish under the sea is going to be ****ed when they open their twitter account.....

Indeed. I am waiting for them to name summer time storm systems that bring storms and tornadoes and flooding for days as it moves through different states.

So I am gathering to all you that is nothing folks. your 2 feet of snow in a 3 hour period always comes with hurricane force winds? All this combined with trees that are already weekend by a hurricane. People Who still have no heat from the hurricane? People who have condemned houses who are still in shelters?

Here in the north east our 2 feet of snow storms are nor easters which usually carry hurricane force winds, and things like thunder snow and flooding. Pretty much hurricanes in the winter.

This is something a lot of people fail to take account is the winds associated with the snowfall. Since this is a densely packed area it makes for a huge deal to us here. Also its not everyday here we get this kind of storm rolling by and dropping almost 2 ft in one hour. My town is expecting 25-30 inches which doesn't help since my car has a donut :( Also, I cant wait to see the lightning off this storm, should be interesting.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

Let it snow ON YOU.

We don't want it.

Agreed. Anything to grab attention.

Winter storms should just be called Satan.

Ever since NBC/Universal/Comcast took ownership of the channel they've gone down hill. I know (and cannot find now) that NOAA ask that anyone using NOAA data not to use the Weather Channel's names for storms other than hurricanes.

    • Looks like no official TBW rating, which should be a required listing in my opinion for sites like Amazon (hell, put it on the box too.)
    • I think I understood the article fine. Online password managers open users up to more possibilities of getting hacked, and due to KeePass being offline and local it reduces the idea of getting hacked. If someone chooses to put their database online they're kinda missing the point. With regards to the idea of the on-prem idea, I would have two issues. I'm not sure about the first issue, but I wouldn't be surprised about them offering a cloud storage for the passwords that most wouldn't bother to switch off, regardless of if they went for on-prem or not. The second issue is that the on-prem solution for Bitwarden costs money, whereas KeePass is free and open-source (as far as I am aware). The article points out how to sync the database between devices, and I recognise that deficiency in security. But it isn't a necessity. So both services can offer a same idea, but one is free and the other isn't...choices, choices.... But to each their own.

    • I am not surprised because life is the product of a lot of biochemical and physical processes that releases various energies as a by-product. The only thing new here is the detection of these photon emissions. The researches noted this "glow" is not a metaphysical one. They don't even immediately end when one is dead. Things like fires, light bulbs, and on a bigger scale stars release a lot more "light" and they are hardly alive.
