7.1 Channel USB External Sound Card Audio Adapter

Recommended Posts

If it is anything like the one that comes with the Sony PS3 Pulse Elite headphones, I'd say yes, if it wasn't so cheap though......

If you are looking for something similar, but wireless... check out the headphones I just said. They work on PC too. The only issue I've had is with Steam force closing when I try to use the headphones. I don't know if it is an issue with my frankenstein PC and still using WinXP, or the headphones themselves. So it might only be MY problem lol.

Here is a thread I made and did a little review on if you want to check out the specs more. It's expensive, but very worth it imho.

Things don't have to be expensive to work good.

Sometimes, yes. But with sound, I've found the better the adapter/speakers, the better the sound. You could end up with a peice that causes more static, produced less bass, or some other issue due to the materials used/not used and how well it is put together. Price in audio equipment is normally a good sign of quality.

Maybe your right. Some of the reviews for the item are pretty good though.

Honestly, it didn't have enough reviews. 27 reviews total. Only half of those are good, the rest are not so good. With it not having many reviews, I would say that not many people have really purchased it. Normally you can get a good idea from reviews when there is a good size of them. That way you get a good sample pool to go from. But with so little, I'd be very very worried about purchasing it and getting stellar performance. I'm an audiophile though, so my taste is a little extreme :p

You are right but the headphone you have will determine the quality. It is worth a try I guess for $3.78

Very true. It's only the cost of a burger to see :p, and if it isn't that great, sell it to a friend for like $2 and cut your losses very short.

I'd suggest trying though some wireless headphones. The freedom is so nice :)

I have these headphones:

Radio has never worked because of where I live.

They seem pretty good. Now are those headphones able to support 7.1 audio though? I mean, they should still work, but without the headset being tuned for 5.1 or 7.1 virtual, you will get uneven sound levels from certain sound, I believe.

No. But the device I am asking about says:

Comes bundled with Xear 3D Sound simulation software, and turns your stereo speaker or earphones into a 7.1 channel environment! USB2.0 Full-Speed (12Mbps) Specification USB HID Class Specification 1.1 USB Audio Device Class Specification 1.0

Give it a shot man. Most you will lose is a few bucks, but if it works, you gain some better sounding situations :p Let us know how it goes though, as I am interested in hearing back on it.

Will do.

It's virtual 7.1, I.E. C-Media virtual effect. Will sound like crap and be a pain to find x64 drivers for Windows 7 or newer.

This is also C-Media, drivers are also a pain to find but it does work. You can do 5.1-7.1 S/P-DIF decode to analogue or pass-through if you have a receiver. It also does the virtual 7.1 to stereo - it sounds like crap still.

    • draw.io Desktop 30.2.6 by Razvan Serea draw.io desktop is a downloadable security-first diagramming application that runs on Windows, MacOS and Linux. Creating diagrams in the desktop app doesn’t need an internet connection. This is useful when you are disconnected or when you must create diagrams in a highly secure environment, where data protection is of the utmost importance. When you use the draw.io desktop app, your diagrams will be stored on your local device. Because this is a stand-alone application, also designed to run offline, there are no interfaces to cloud storage platforms available. Of course, you can still store your diagrams in folders that are synchronised to your cloud storage if you wish. Easy-to-use diagram editor The draw.io apps work just like the office and drawing tools you are used to using. Drag and drop shapes from the shape libraries and drag to draw connectors between them. Drag connectors to add waypoints and set a precise shape and position, or let them reroute automatically. Double click and start typing to add a label to anything. Create tables and swimlane flows with a familiar tool. Style shapes and connectors with customisable palettes, sketch options, fonts and text formatting tools. Search for shapes, including in open-source icon libraries. Use our vast libraries of shapes and templates, organised into logical categories, to create a range of diagrams and infographics. Generate diagrams from text descriptions using our smart templates.
