Blizzard Support?

Recommended Posts

So I wanted to try out WoW, as everyone keeps banging on about it. Just yesterday I went to set up a free account to try it out but it says my email is in use, and asked me to sign in. Problem is, I've never signed up for / played a Blizzard game before (WoW, Diablo etc.) So someone has used my email address?

Well I tried the usual crap you have to go through to recover your password, and before I could enter an answer to the secret question (which I have no clue what it is because as I said, I've never had an account before) it informs me that my account has been locked down and my current password can no longer be used. It also says I need to contact support to get it unlocked, which it then gives me a URL for support page.

So off I go to support, enter my problem; can't access account. Then gives me the options to contact support, email or live chat.

When I click either one it asks me to sign into my Blizzard account. /facepalm

What imbecile comes up with this crap? But my question is, how can I get my account back? Is there some kind of email address I can email? [email protected]?

Don't play wow, I'm an ex player myself, played since release until Cataclysm.,... Game went majorly downhill a long time ago. My top nerd tip would be wait for Elder Scrolls MMO, Looks much better than wow and has most of the things what wow is missing. Check it out, you can sign up for the beta at the moment.

You could also try phone support:

''Did you know that you can use Skype to call our Support for Free?

Simply install Skype on your computer or phone and use it to dial +44 800 0288246. Skype does not charge you for calls to +44 800 numbers even from outside the UK!

Note: Please, only use this number with Skype, as dialing it from a normal phone or mobile would result in you incurring international call charges.''

I've had the fun of Blizz Support before. There are a couple of things you can do (#1, report an issue of being hacked, #2 report an issue with the authenticator). Usually that will let you email them and you will be okay.

Blizzard support is great IF you know all yoru answers and have the keys that digital editions don't. the problem is in many cases their auto tools will take you to a dead end.

the ONLY way to get out of this dead end is to NOT choose that you forgot your password, lost your key fob, or got locked out, those won't help you. HOWEVER, if you choose the option of "my account got hacked" then, not only will you get all the tools you need to fix your problem, they will be fairly quick abut it as well. You will need a picture or scan of a valid ID to do this process though. and you should describe your problem thoroughly and probably point out you didn't actually get hacked. though it might not matter, I think they go through the restore your characters procedure anyway, which means if you use the account after they "fix" it, but before they tell you you can play, whatever you do in the meantime might get rolled back.

    • Yes for me, I installed 'old calculator' (Windows 7 calculator) in its place since it is more useful to me. I think paint is the only one I left installed

    • Cooler Master MasterFrame 600 PC case is now 33% off on Amazon by Ivan Jenic The Cooler Master MasterFrame 600 is currently $109.99 on Amazon, down from its original $164.99 list price. That's 33% off and $55 saved on this premium aluminum mid-tower case with a modular design. If you're upgrading your PC case and want something that doesn't force you into a rigid layout, the MasterFrame 600 is worth a look. The case is built around the Cooler Master's FreeForm 2.0 platform, which lets you reconfigure the internal structure according to your hardware. Magnetic side panels allow for straightforward adjustments, and the case supports everything from Mini-ITX to E-ATX motherboards without compromise. There's also generous cooling headroom. Four pre-installed PWM fans handle airflow out of the box. GPU clearance goes up to 410mm, and the case supports radiators up to 420mm with room for three simultaneously. Truth be told, this might not be the prettiest case on the market, but it’s highly functional. The aluminum construction keeps the whole thing lightweight despite its size, and the finish looks noticeably better than the plastic mid-towers competing at this price point. If you want a serious, flexible case that prioritizes function over flashy aesthetics like RGB lighting, the MasterFrame 600 delivers at a reasonable price.
