Hum
Mississippi holds onto its title as most religious U.S. state, with 58 percent of its residents saying they are very religious, according to a Gallup poll released Wednesday (Feb. 13). The least religious state? Vermont. About 40 percent of Americans said they were "very religious," meaning religion is an important part of their daily life and that they attend religious services every week or nearly every week. Some 31 percent indicated they were nonreligious, or that religion wasn't an important part of their daily life and they seldom or never attend such services. timster
I love blanket statements like these. Bigotry and athiesm are two sides of the same coin. Athiests are biggoted against religion. I'm an Atheist and I have nothing against any religion. HSoft
I'm an Atheist and I have nothing against any religion. I know people of all faiths and have always respected their religious beliefs. I'm sure you do. Just as there are religious people who have nothing against athiests. Hence why I opened with "I love blanket statements like these". Perhaps I should have put a "/s" at the end of my post to show how stupid blanket statements like those are.

theyarecomingforyou
It's sad that "most religious" directly correlates to "least tolerant" / "most bigoted", especially when religion tries to claim the moral highground.

Mormons have a known history of being very racist in the past. here, educate yourself if you would like. I just state things as I know them to be. If you cannot take the fact a lot of racist people also happen to claim to be very religions, not sure what to tell you, but that does not make it any less the truth. theyarecomingforyou, Hum, +hedleigh and 1 other 4 Share

Not sure about their, but my time In Alabama lead me to believe racism never died in the south, it just became a vicious circle of hatred between both sides. Memphis
You educate yourself. Utah is not 100% Mormon. You state things the way YOU think them to be. You are not all knowing! Straw man, he never said 100% of the state was Mormon But it is the single largest Mormon Enclave with over 60% being Mormon and with clustering counted their are whole parts of the state where 90% of the town is Mormon.
