Orbis Devkit and Controller Picture Leaked

The prototype controller is cool and I'm glad it's not using smooth plastic like on the PS3; its got a nice matte finish

I don't think this controller is such a big deal as it's made out to be, honestly.

The triggers are pressure sensitive. The abxy buttons are not, unlike the original Xbox controller where all the buttons where fully pressure sensitive. Mostly used in fighting games, and didn't work terrible well since it wasn't easy to tell if you pressed hard or soft...

I'd say a matte finish is a bad idea on a controller. In no time your grip will wear it away and it will look like ****.

Errr. Matte plastic surfaces like on controllers last forever. Glossy however wear really fast and become extra slippery. I don't mind my halo 360 controllers with glossy top and matter bottom though, but I have a better comfort when holding the matte ones, your hands also for som reason gets less warm and sweaty on the matte ones.

How come im the only man on earth to have no issues with them what so ever?

I don't either, but I can see the issue of people's fingers slipping when playing a particularly frantic broshooter.

I really don't get the hate for the Sony controller. If anything, the XBox's controller is technically the foreign controller. Many people, myself included, had to get used to it, not the other way around. I personally do not see anything wrong whatsoever with the placement of the analog sticks on the Dual Shock, but then I also played a hell of a lot of games on my PS2.

Same here. Maybe I just like symmetry, but since most games have moved to using both sticks for movement/camera, I like having my thumbs essentially in the same position on both hands.

I hate hate hate the layout of the PS3 controller - my left thumb always feels like it has to stretch to stay on the stick comfortably.

What about your right thumb, since, you know, it's the same distance and all.

Maybe his left thumb is an inch shorter than his right? I dunno, the arguments against the PS3 controller's analog layout have always been asinine to me.

Now, the analog sticks themselves are crap compared to the 360.

What about your right thumb, since, you know, it's the same distance and all.

The position of the right stick is mostly irrelevant since it's only used for the occasional minor camera tweak and not for all movement.

FPS games, or just about any shooter would disagree. While these types wouldn't account for all games released, they are likely the most popular of this gen.

I deliberately ignored those as any proper gamer knows those don't work(in an enjoyable manner) on a gamepad in the first place

As a proper gamer, I play and enjoy FPS games on both PC and console. so no you're wrong. I think you confused proper gamer with "in my personal opinion and experience with not bothering to ever learn to play FPS games with a controller".

Mouse is better in some way, BUT in some ways the controller is actually better as well.

I have plenty of experience with console shooters from before i had a pc capable of gaming very well, back in the ps2 era. Seeing as how the controls haven't changed one bit since then it's still correct to say fps games on a controller are slow, inaccurate, and often a pain to play.

you're still forgetting they "my opinion" thing.

Millions of people enjoy FPS games on BOTH console and PC.

    • You pay just $100 per TB with this rare 4TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD deal by Sayan Sen SSDs and GPUs are incredibly hard to get nowadays due to high pricing. Discounts are quite rare which is why we report on them as soon as we spot a good deal. For example AMD's new 9070 GRE was finally up for sale at a very good price of just $500 thanks to a special coupon. Sadly that deal is gone but if you happen to be looking for a 4TB NVMe SSD and can spend around $400 there is a really good offer on sale that you should not miss out on as TeamGroup's 4TB G50 model is on sale for that that price which means you are only paying $100 per TB, a very good deal in the current market (purchase link under the specs table down below). The TeamGroup T-FORCE G50 NVMe SSD is a PCIe Gen4 drive and as such it promises to deliver sequential read speeds of up to 5,000 MB/s, helping accelerate game loading, file transfers, and everyday computing tasks. Since this is a 4TB drive you can use it for a gaming library to take advantage of things like DirectStorage. The SSD features an InnoGrit controller and SLC caching technology to support consistent performance. An ultra-thin, patented graphene heatsink is included to aid in heat dissipation. Get it at the link below: Team Group T-FORCE G50 4TB Internal SSD (TM8FFE004T0C129): $449.99 + $50 off w/ promo code SSF69668, limited offer => $39.99 (Sold and Shipped by Newegg US) Good to know This Amazon deal is U.S. specific, and not available in other regions unless specified. • I agree. I also think Phil stayed too long. They should definitely fire whoever thought all a console platform needed was Call of Duty, Elder Scrolls, and Fallout to survive. Asha and crew are still saying they need more Elder Scrolls and Fallout games. They simply don't get it.
