Wow, nerdrage? Realy? So you think that we all should shutup and just be happy and wait for EA to fix all the problems?

I'd guess that most of us that paid for the game were expecting to be able to play with it, not wait for the poor plannification at EA to fix things up...

You are expecting *perfection* - worse, you are ALSO expecting the same sort of the game as the predecessor, despite the two being ten years apart.

Hence my referring to *nerdrage* - did you learn nothing from the issues with Diablo III (or even Starcraft II Wings of Liberty) - both of which had similar issues?

Just because ONE of the reasons for an always-online connection is DRM, it is assumed that DRM is automatically the largest or ONLY issue.

Name a SINGLE game of recent vintage - and that includes MMORPGs - that had a flawless launch. (I can't - and it's far from unique to EA.)

I can't even name a single F2P MMORPG that's had a perfect launch - and I've taken part in three of them in the past year.

Yes; EA bungled the launch - I stated that categorically.

However, name a single company that hasn't bungled one over the past few years.

From what I have seen, I can't find a company - in or out of anything - that hasn't had a bungled launch recently. (I didn't refer to Boeing or Airbus for my health - BOTH companies had bungled launches of their flagship planes; in the case of Airbus, their launch of the A380 was FAR worse than that of the 787 Dreamliner.)

Amount spent on the game: $80....... number of times could play so far...... ZERO

UGH! Any time I have time the darn servers are down or full

really annoying too..... I've owned every SimCity since SC1 on DOS and SNES, this is the first one to really **** me off and I haven't even gotten into it yet... and SC3K had its annoying quirks too, but not being able to play because too many are playing, that just takes it...... ugh :\

This may have been said already, but I just happened to be on Amazon and noticed SimCity as the #1 Best Seller PC Game, so I clicked on it to see what the reviews were from customers. This is just embarrassing for EA (left is digital copy; right is boxed version):

For a game that got reviewed so well by the critics, this is a major black eye.

when I was playing the beta, it was an awesome game, the DRM / Online all the time thing is the only major problem...... just wish I could well GET IN to play the final game.....

I don't get why their servers aren't distributed and mirrored in real time... why can't every server access every city made? Heck I have high volume warehouse databases that mirror hundreds of millions of records an hour yet EA can't make their servers mirrored aroudn the world?...

Maybe I will log off sometime and give you room to play. LOL. Actually weird that everyone is having this issue. I have yet to not be able to log in.

Except EA said that :

A) It wouldn't suffer the same problems as Diablo 3, and

B) They also promised refunds if people weren't happy

It's suffering the exact same problems as Diablo 3 and they are refusing to refund, I don't think being angry is "nerdrage", you are just one of the many arrogant, condescending, know-it-alls that this forum suffers from.

really thinking about buying the game but some reviews people are putting on kinda scare me lol and the always on is total BS

Better off rolling some tobacco in them $20 notes (3 of them), sitting back, with a few beers, and enjoying an expensive smoke, honestly, you will have more fun and be wasting your cash as if you had bought the game, but with the great pleasure of knowing it never went into EA's cash pot ;)

Other than the servers problems, what I don't like about this new version is the lack of Load/Save or any kind of UNDO. If you do something wrong, you can't rollback and do something better.

I know it's a "Town" simulator (map too small to be a City) and in real life, you can't rollback if you do something wrong. But it's not real life, it's a game. At least give us UNDO, I happened to click at the wrong place in my map and put a power station by accident, sh*it happens but you can't correct any of it.

SimCity historically has not had an undo, kinda the whole point in making sure you run a city right... you know, simulating real life where you can't undo that bond you just issued...

it's like real life...... you build something by mistake you have to bulldoze it to get rid of it

But you could revert to your last save and go on if you made a mistake. And "In Real Life" you don't risk of accidently "clicking" at the wrong spot in your town and build a power station a the wrong place....

I know I can bulldoze the thing, but I lost the money...

What?

When possible (servers problems) I try to play the game, I did not just get a $80 game to complain. But the lack of Load/Save is something " I " miss.

yeah you SHOULD be able to save it when ever you want to, I agree with that, and save locally..... but this game has the feeling of EA wants to say when you can and can't play it, and eventually will turn the servers off and say too bad to us...

You bought a $60 game and paid $20 for something that should have been available at that cost. Your point still stands though.

why should it have been included at the cost ? It's an addon that's costs a lot more to develop. it's not necessary to play the game, and those that want it can chose to pay a small amount extra to get it.

Well to be fair, this is one EA practice I think is a pile of crap. Release day DLC just shouldn't happen...and it almost always affects the main game considerably.

    • Finally we can whole-heartedly recommend the AMD 9070 GRE thanks to this discount by Sayan Sen Earlier this month at Computex 2026 AMD released the Radeon RX 9070 GRE for a global audience. We reviewed the GPU and it scored 8 out of 10 for gaming and 7.5 out of 10 for productivity including things like AI performance. The card launched for $550 which we thought was a bit on the higher side, though currently you are getting the chance to get the Gigabyte Gaming variant of the GPU for just $500 thanks to this discount (purchase link under the specs table down below). As such we can finally whole-heartedly recommend this GPU. The card employs Gigabyte's WINDFORCE cooling system which combines multiple design elements such as alternate-spinning Hawk fans, a vapor chamber, and composite heat pipes to manage heat dissipation. The Server-grade Thermal conductive gel further helps in this department. The inclusion of a semi-passive cooling mode allows the fans to remain inactive under low workloads, which allows for reduced noise operation during lighter usage. There is dual BIOS switch that allows toggling between performance and silent modes. The technical specs of the Gigabyte Gaming RX 9070 GRE OC is given in the table below: Specification Value Boost Clock Up to 2920 MHz Game Clock Up to 2340 MHz Stream Processors 3072 Memory Clock 18 Gbps Memory Size 12 GB Memory Type GDDR6 Memory Bus 192-bit Memory Bandwidth 432 GB/s Card Bus Interface PCI Express 5.0 Max Resolution 7680 × 4320 Max Displays (Multi-view) 4 Card Dimensions 288 × 132 × 50 mm (L × W × H) Recommended Power Supply 700 W Power Connectors 2 × 8-pin Display Outputs 2 × DisplayPort 2.1a 2 × HDMI 2.1b Get it at the link below: GIGABYTE Gaming Radeon RX 9070 GRE 12GB GDDR6 GPU (GV-R907GREGAMING OC-12GD): $549.99 + $50 discount with promo code in mail => $499.99 (Sold and Shipped by Newegg US) This Newegg deal is US-specific and not available in other regions unless specified. This is a first-party seller link (at the time of article publishing); ensure that you also purchase from a first-party seller link only.
