Ooops

when you're deleting a couple of large windmills on your giant windmill park to make room for the nuclear plant. make sure to be in the windmill park editing mode and don't answer yes when your whole park is lit up yellow.... takes a while for the nuclear to gear up :p

my mines and smelter don't make any money without power :p so much easier when you have neighbours to buy utilities from :)

Happened to me couple of times as well, trying to delete some extensions and ending up demolishing an entire freight terminal and windfarm plant.

Any of you installed the VU-Tower from the Heroes and Villains set? Is it worth it from tourism etc point of view, or will crime skyrocket in the city?

Been playing straight for 4 hours now, don't know what happened there but the game really sucks you in...

Welcome to the Club!

Cheers!

haha

I'm now trying to cure my Starcraft II addiction with this game. It seems to be working coz I haven't logged on to battle.net since the release. However, I don't know how much longer I can hold on to it with HOTS being released in literally several hours!

Any idea what the free games will be?

If the choices are good, I'll buy SimCity (which is overpriced) since I'd be getting two games for the price of one.

Should have bought the game from the Indian store, before it was pulled off of it (due too many non-Indians buying the game from there). Would have saved 30 bucks and get a free game, too. Not that I'm saying the game (simcity 5) is bad, but 60 is a bit too much for it in current state. And no, no one knows which games are going to be given to the simcity owners yet. Hopefully, it will be something good.

At some point you have to start burning it.

I was burning and thought I just didn't have enough trucks so I deleted that one and created 3 new dumps all maxed out with garbage trucks but they all come back to the garage at 2:30 each day. Still red on pickup and can't figure it out. They haven't said anything about the dumps being at capacity.

My city was at 250,000 but has dropped to 230,000 now.

I think there might still be bugs with regional buildings (my trade markets occasionally just stopped and I wasn't entirely sure why) but in the meantime if you see a queue entering and leaving your city it might be good to stop volunteering as much to other cities (especially if you've only got one road coming in.)

I haven't used it yet. Maxisman I have put down in most of my cities because he helps with crime, hospitals and fires. I am worried about the VU tower crime. I might try him in my oil, and mining town. LEss population due to crime would mean less traffic and faster sell times for my delivery trucks.

    • Yeah, this is absolutely nothing new and EA have done it before. Burnout Paradise, released in 2008, had dynamic advertising billboards that were updated via the internet and targeted people based on location and what EA knew about them from their profile. It was particularly notable for the fact that the Obama presidential campaign ran ads in the game, in an attempt to reach a younger audience who didn't watch broadcast TV any more. It was by no means the first though. Battlefield 2142 from 2006 had the same thing. In fact, Neowin wrote a story about it back then. https://www.neowin.net/news/ba...-in-game-ads-clarification/
    • This is obviously aimed at the education where Apple has lost so much ground to Chromebooks in the last few years, but unless they come up with a comparable management system for education why would anyone switch back?
    • Here's how we arrived at that claim: Note that this is just Play Store downloads. The app is also available on the Galaxy App Store
    • Google Play states the app had more than 50 million downloads. What other metric do you suggest should be used?
    • MSN defined our generation in some ways, kind of like Snapchat and TikTok have done for future generations. I have great memories of the MSN era in the late 90s / early 2000s. In the UK everyone seemed to come home from School and go on MSN for the evening. We didn't really have mobile phones then, so other than going and knocking on your friends door it was a totally new way of interacting with people. I also loved how I could talk to people I’d met playing online games from around the world. Inviting people to NetMeeting and messing about with the shared white board and webcams was pretty fun, even if webcams only ran at a couple of fps over dial-up. All the random things you could do with MsgPlus! were really fun - I suspect that made a few people jump with /shello randomly blasting Mr Hankey out their speakers! Maybe I’m just nostalgic, however I do feel the internet and computers were more fun back then.
