Woot. Woot!

Battlelog for BF4 is up: http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf4

But you still can't play, even though it's almost noon of the 1st in Europe :(

Thanks made some servers favorites already! God dawn look at how many servers there is! It will like a never ending scrolling page!

Hope all these servers stay around for at least 6 months.

I saw some people on the servers too already. Must be DICE employees.

Is anyone else here upgrading to Windows 8 for BF4 ? Is it worth it ?

Doubt those are employees. Too many of them not working.

Probably youtubers, journalists and others that got early access. And upgraded to Windows 8 long ago, before BF4 even mentioned the better DirectX usage.

Now back to the game :D

Does anyone know if Battlefield 4 PC will have proper controller support?  Support in BF3 sucked.

And please no "why w0uld y0u do th4t, l0ser' k+m PC elitism please. Want to play on my TV/gaming PC from my couch.

What's a "proper controller support" for you? Game already has full xbox 360 gamepad support even in beta.

Or you just need the aimbot ("aim assist") option like in the consoles version?

And wish the beta was a bit more stable. Two servers crashed in a row in the past half hour for me with friends and all were kicked with "Game disconnected: your connection to the server timed out."

Sorry by proper support I mean compared to BF3. With BF3 in Single player for example it would still come up with KBM prompts for the QTEs and even if you hit the corresponding controller button it didn't work, so you NEEDED a keyboard/mouse to play the single player.

So many games for the past 5odd years have proper controller support where you could plug in a controller and it would be mapped and working automatically it was such a shame they borked it with BF3 and didn't even patch it later, so I am quite keen to play BF4 if they have this baked in correctly from the start.

Oh, then in that case; no. Put into BF3 over 200 hours, but never played the single player and for the multiplayer the gamepad is in no use so never had the chance to see if the game offered the key bindings on screen for the gamepad. Tried now on empty server to use the XBOX360's gamepad to see if the interface changes and nothing. Still displays the keys for the keyboard.

Maybe on the final release when the single player going to be available?

I have had nothing but fun.

The "last man alive" squad feature is (Y) (Y) (Y)

I've experienced great squad play with random squad mates.

Hip firing feels waaay better. Overall the firing mechanic feels a lot more like the Killzone franchise than BF3 did, which I find enjoyable.

Just ordered a system with these specs:

Core i5-4670K 3.40 GHz

GeForce GTX 770 4GB

8GB DDR3/1866MHz

Hopefully I can run the game at high or ultimate settings at 1080p.

EDIT: Looks like someone already has run the game with that graphics card :)

I'm thinking about saving up and buying this card, rather than the $259 760

http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Classified-Dual-Link-Graphics/dp/B00DBPU8B2

should do a good job i think for a while tocome.

again, if you're already using nvidia gtx cards, get the latest beta drivers. they greatly improved my game on the 560 ti, and they also finally allow me to run bf3 on ultra.

so far the game is really nice, that damn building falls too easily though.

game doesnt feel like bf3 at all really, feels more fluid and nice.

What FPS are you getting on your 560 Ti? I'm on medium settings right now at about 60 FPS on my 560 Ti 448. I'm also looking at the 770 (likely the ASUS though for the noise).

I just played for about 2 hours and the game feels great!

Well it looks like I need either a new computer or have to figure out some way to upgrade my graphics card (It's a laptop). I'm kinda disappointed at the massive performance drop BF4 has over BF3.  From consistent 60fps (on high settings) to ... 15fps with everything on low. Not particularly impressed. :/

These are my settings

http://www.joshx.com/temp/bf4set.png

and i average 40fps. Not the best, but its playable.

Still time to upgrade card.

Just drop everything to low if you get such bad performance. Game still looks amazing on low.

Also reduce the resolution scale to about 80%. Helps too.

Seems ok so far, gfx are a small upgrade from BF3 but it runs really really well on my system (SLI 760's) and looks really pretty.

Shooting feels like COD to me for some reason which I don't really like, and I hate how you can see sniper trails.

Also levolution is ###### if anything it feels like less stuff to blow up than BF3.

Lots of little handy changes though in the UI and classes.

This topic is now closed to further replies.

    • Windoze 11 could finally go to hell, instead of making me savor yet another error I've never had. "Bad Pool Caller" or whatever TF cryptic crap0la message it is. Adding salt to injury, it says something along these lines (on the blank black screen after it hard stops): "Your windoze needs to restart. You can restart." NO WAY SHERLOCK. The PEECEE, look, it's *blocked*, I can do jack sh1t with it as it is and you say that it needs to restart? Further, that I can restart? What am I supposed to do, take a herbal bath? Sudo a sandwich? Timewaster pile of useless slop and errors, coded by monkeys and force-fed on us by a pedo-founded corporation, that's all there is to it. Now, let's have a fun weekend trying to handle the error, which after a quick internet check can basically be due to EVERYTHING, from memory faults to drivers to motherboard issues. Thanks M$.

It emphasizes privacy by blocking trackers, ads, and ensuring your data isn't collected. With Zen Mods, users can enhance their browser experience with various customization options, including features like split views and vertical tabs. The browser is designed for efficiency, providing fast browsing speeds and a lightweight interface. Zen Browser prioritizes user control over the browsing experience, offering a minimal yet powerful alternative to traditional web browsers while keeping your online activity private. Zen Browser’s DRM limitation Zen Browser currently lacks support for DRM-protected content, meaning streaming services like Netflix and HBO Max are inaccessible. This is due to the absence of a Widevine license, which requires significant costs and is financially unfeasible for the developer. Additionally, applying for this license would require Zen to be part of a larger company, similar to Mozilla or Brave. Therefore, DRM-protected media won't be supported in Zen Browser for the foreseeable future. Zen Browser offers features that improve user experience, privacy, and customization: Privacy-Focused: Blocks trackers and minimizes data collection. Automatic Updates: Keeps the browser updated with security patches. Zen Mods: Customizable themes and layouts. Workspaces: Organize tabs into different workspaces. Compact Mode: Maximizes screen space by minimizing UI elements. Zen Glance: Quick website previews. Split Views: View multiple tabs in the same window. Sidebar: Access bookmarks and tools quickly. Vertical Tabs: Manage tabs vertically. Container Tabs: Separate browsing sessions. Fast Profile Switcher: Switch between profiles easily. Tab Folders: Organize tabs into folders. Customizable UI: Personalize browser interface. Security Features: Inherits Firefox’s robust security. Fast Performance: Lightweight and optimized for speed. Zen Mods Customization: Deep customization with mods. Quick Access: Easy access to favorite websites. Open Source: Built on Mozilla Firefox with community collaboration. Community-Driven: Active development and feedback from users. GitHub Repository: Contribute and review the source code. Zen Browser 1.21.3b changelog: New Features Updated to Firefox 152.0.1 Fixes Fixed transparency not working after updating to 1.21.2b (#14259) Fixed frequent crashes affecting users with Intel Raptor Lake processors Fixed an issue on macOS where choosing a PDF option, such as "Save as PDF", from the system print dialog would send the job to your printer instead of saving a file. • Microsoft, why can't I just turn off Copilot on my MS account (in order to stop OneDrive from wanting to summarize everything, ahem) in a way that doesn't break OneNote instead?
