Obi-Wan Kenobi's thoughts on Windows 8

I blame apple's ipad for Windows 8, MS wanted to compete so badly and failed.

Microsoft failed to understand why iOS was so well adopted. This is because Apple didn't take OSX, redesign it for touch and put it on their tablets and force it upon their desktop users. It's always been said that someone who has never used a computer before can pickup an iPad and know how to use it. I doubt the same can be said for Windows 8, mainly because all the menu's are hidden.

It would be the same as if Microsoft would have taken their already well developed Windows Phone 7/8 OS and put it on tablets. They already had the infrastructure in place. They didn't have to reinvent the wheel.

Right on the money, This is an unfortunate case of trying too hard and trying to kill two birds with one stone. Microsoft did well when they didn't seem to care about something but I could sense the desperation on their face trying to push their tablet ecosystem.

Dude let it go already. It's here to stay, and your bitching about it is like trying to overflow the Atlantic ocean with ****. Just let it ****ing go.

Is his opinion bothering you that much?

I want to scream at MS for messing with Windows the way they did.

As far as you are concerned.

The iPad is a big iPhone, Surface Pro is a proper computer, not just a big toy.

My point is that everyone and their mother makes jokes about Apple. Hell, check any comment on an Apple news post and it goes something like: "HURR DURR, UR HOLDIN IT WRONG! LOL" Suddenly, someone makes a couple jokes about Windows 8 and it's the end of the world...

Dude. Everyone and their mother has been making jokes about Microsoft FOREVER now... way more than people make fun of Apple. It's not "suddenly" that somebody is making a joke about Windows 8... it's an endless hourly barrage of attacks and bad jokes.

Why is this some competition? I'm just trying to get the dude to chill out? Jesus... He came to a joke thread to be angry lol.

haha it's like this in every joke thread, its funny that he's also implying Windows 8 jokes are not funny

    • This makes me think of Dune for some reason.
    • I'm too old to return to the "good old days" when I was installing custom ROMs and tinkering with my devices - now I just want to turn it on and use it. I've read that banking and payment apps work on Murena /e/OS (I'll have to check the ones I use) and I also really want to support Fairphone 😉
    • Time to start going to the local church and play Bingo for a while.
