jebus197
OK I know I'm going to get a lot of guys who won't read this and will give me the standard explanation, but I used to be able to open mailto links in Firefox and have them open in a new GMail compose window. Unfortunately for reasons that escape me, this behaviour has recently changed and now these links open in Thunderbird. I want to change this back so the open in GMail, however after looking through the list of default application file extension handlers in Firefox, mailto simply does not exist in this list any more. So I can't simply click it and change it back to GMail, as it is no longer in this list in order to allow me to do so. I tried following various advice on line about changing some settings in about:config, but none of these seemed to work and mailto links still keep opening in Thunderbird. Is there a way to re-add mailto to Firefox's list of default file handlers, so I can change it back to GMail,, or does anyone have instructions for configuring this through about:config that are guranteed to work?
