So I'm getting ready to upgrade.. Any thoughts?

That sigma lens you have quoted is a DX crop factor lens. you could use it on a fullframe but #1 you might hit the mirror or #2 you will see black corners at certain focal length and wider (making the zoom appear much less).

I think you have a great zoom if you get 24-105 f4 as all purpose. I think you should look into getting some old large aperture manual lens for your video work as those will give your videos a more cinematic feel than a smaller aperture zoom lens can.

Yeah, you lost me at "you might hit the mirror" :/ aren't almost all nikon glasses compatible ( excluding metering) compatible except for the pre-AI lens?

The Ai/Ais lenses? You said they were Nikon though? How does that work? Thought Nikon lenses are not compatible with Canon bodies?

Yeah i'm talking about old nikon lens on modern nikon FX body, ignore my comments.

However, since you are into video, this is a good read for you:

"I recently took the plunge into DSLR cinematography by purchasing an $800 Canon T2i. If you scoff at the idea that video shot on a consumer grade Rebel can be taken serious by pros, I look forward to showing you some of the video I?ve been shooting. I?ll post a proper review of how this unpretentious game-changer is working for me in my documentary work soon. But today I want to talk about lenses."

It basically talks on use of adapters and whatnot.

Good Read, but I'll probably look into the adapters and new lenses in the future. I'm still not sure about having the adapters permanently stuck on the lens.. :s

Naw you don't need adapters unless you plan on buying a buttload of nikon lens to use on your canon :p, i found that link searching for "nikon lens on canon bodies" and since it was related to video I thought it would be relevant to your future endeavors.

I would avoid the T2i for video; I have this camera and it cannot always record more then several minutes worth of video; you get a warning message about heat and the camera turns off. Although on good days I've recorded up to 20 min or so. I've contacted Canon and was told it's by design; WTF?

Just do a Google search on the issue and you'll find plenty of people having the same issue. I'm surprised there hasn't been an out cry over this issue, as I see it as an unacceptable design flaw.

That wasn't a post on the t2i, but rather nikon lens on canon bodies and the adapters needed for that to happen, the OP is considerig a 5d MKIII, though thanks for the heads up, the more information, the better. :D

5D MKII and spend the difference from the MKIII on decent lenses. Kit lenses are usually crap in the long run.

The Kit lens is still an L lens on the 5d.

I just finished a wedding this weekend as a photographer. There was a videographer there using the 7d for video. Why not do that and save a grand on lens. He had a 7d was using the 70-200, a tilt shift lens and the 24mm and 35mm.

It's what i've been saying all along with the 6d, which is still full frame.

I also went to Camera Canada and their price just the Mkiii w/ lens was $3,799.97. So I added the Rhode Mic and it was already 4069.96. I think so for Aden Camera has the best deal. It's got everything I need, a LED panel, a Rhode Mic (which I will need anyway in the future). What do you guys think?

just make sure the LED panel isn't a cheap knock off.

    • Gemini in Google Sheets can now help you debug and fix formula errors by David Uzondu Google has started rolling out an update to Gemini in Google Sheets that allows the AI to diagnose and fix formula errors in one click, as long as your Workspace admin has Gemini for Workspace in Sheets turned on. According to Google, the new feature can handle pretty much everything from basic arithmetic to very complex calculations. This ability to debug formula errors comes about two years after Google introduced basic formula generation with Gemini in Sheets. To create a formula with Gemini in Sheets, you open a spreadsheet on your computer and click Ask Gemini in the top right corner. You can also enter an equals sign in any cell and use a shortcut like Ctrl + Alt + G on Windows and Chrome OS, or Command + Ctrl + G on macOS. Once you open the side panel, you write a natural language prompt using your sheet references. For example, you can ask Gemini to divide goals by games, or to find cell C1 in range D:G. If for some reason, the formula Gemini generated doesn't work, or maybe you wrote the formula yourself, you can troubleshoot the issue directly inside the grid. When a cell shows an error message, you hover over it and click "Fix". This action opens the side panel where Gemini analyzes the data structure and automatically applies the fixes when they are ready. You can cancel the process at any time by clicking stop in the side panel. Image via Google Google has been pushing its Gemini integration in Google Sheets for a while now, steadily moving AI features from side panels directly into user spreadsheets. Last year, the Mountain View giant shipped an =AI() Function in Sheets that allowed users to run translation and text generation directly inside cells instead of using the side panel interface. Earlier this year, the company announced that Gemini in Sheets had reached near-human expert performance, achieving a 70.48% success rate on the SpreadsheetBench dataset.
    • I get what you are saying, If i go onto the Instagram site, it says log in with Facebook, but they are not allowed to link my account with Instagram until I do that. Maybe in the U.S, they can link them, but Privacy is not a thing in the U.S. the way things are going,l won;t be any better in the U.K.

    • Exactly, this is just the beginning. I hope that by that time, our inept politicians devise something like a Universal Basic Income, because unemployment and poverty rates will skyrocket otherwise. And believe me, robots that perform physical work aren't a matter of IF, but WHEN. No career is truly safe from AI/robots, it's just a matter of time.
