Gran Turismo 6 Thoughts/Predictions

I don't recall MS actually buying exclusivity on TopGear. not for the track anyway. for a while they both had the license. sure PD simply decided not to renew ? if MS bought exclusivity you'd think they would announe they had exclusivity and not just that they had a license. or maybe they upgraded to exclusivity for Forza 5.

Indeed. (Y) I'm pretty certain Microsoft don't have any exclusivity on the Top Gear Test Track at least, as Slightly Mad Studios (the ones making Project CARS) have recently been considering adding it into the game after the recent deal they struck with McLaren, who in their words, have strong ties to the track.

you're never done with a car game, you abandon it for the next one. and the cars int he DLC packs shouldn't be considered as part of the price for the game anyway, they're optional expansions. you buy the ones you want, none at all, or everyone if you're a collector.

as for the price of them. if you ever did any 3D modelling. especially with the fact these have to be accurate and have movable and correct parts everywhere, textures and physics accurate as well as sounds. the car packs are anything but expensive, there's a serious amount of man hours going into them.

I wonder how long how long Polyphony is going to take to release a Gran Turismo 7 for the PS4? If Gran Turismo 5 was launched with the PS3, there could have been a GT6 released in 2009/10. Then there could have been a GT7 for the PS4.

Here is an in game screenshot from the alpha version.

That must be Gran Turismo 9 on the Playstation 5

I too love Gran Turismo and my PS3 but that looks like a photograph

Nah, but it's also not "in game" graphics. it is, but it isn't....  live action graphics won't be quite that good, photo/replay mode has a lot of extra filters, details and AA that you don't get during actual gameplay.

same with all racing games, and they're usually advertised with " in game" graphics from replay and photo mode :/

Indeed. Same story even with Forza 5. When I played it at GAME it looked nothing like the ad they're running right now boasting "in-game graphics".

Right now, I'd say the best looking racer is Project CARS, and that's still in the pre-alpha stage...

Fortunately for next-gen console owners, it's coming to all of them (yep, even the Wii U).

    • Microsoft Edge comes pre-installed with Windows 11 and it's a great browser, so why not use it? Not everyone is trying to run away from Google, sometimes people just want convenience and less friction.

    • No. The file manager is a lost cause. After all, its dev receives all the undeserved praise he could evre wish from Neowin, without having actually earned it. This has never lead to improvements.
