A new study published in the American Journal of Medicine has revealed a potential benefit from the use of cannabis. The article, entitled ?The Impact of Marijuana Use on Glucose, Insulin, and Insulin Resistance among U.S. Adults,? investigated the blood sugar-related effects of cannabis use among participants in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey from 2005 to 2010.

In several other studies of large populations, lower rates of both obesity and diabetes have been noted among users of cannabis, as compared with non-users. This curious fact encouraged the three primary authors of the study to examine cannabis use among the 4657 participants in the national survey. The researchers noted that although cannabis smokers generally consume more calories than non-users, they paradoxically live with lower body mass indexes (BMIs) and reduced rates of both obesity and diabetes. Of the participants in the national survey, 579 were currently using cannabis and 1975 had previously used cannabis.

To assess blood glucose, insulin resistance and other factors among cannabis users, the authors organized survey participants into three groups ? those who had never used cannabis, those who had used cannabis but not within 30 days, and those who were current users. The authors put study participants through tests for fasting blood sugar levels, high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) testing, and assessments of blood pressure, BMI and waist circumference.

The researchers found that subjects who were current cannabis users had lower levels of fasting insulin, lower levels of insulin resistance, smaller waist circumference, and higher levels of HDL cholesterol, which is known to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. This supported findings from earlier studies in which cannabis users showed improved weight, improved insulin resistance, and reduced incidence of diabetes, as compared with non-users.

^ metformin ... ?

Metformin (BP, pronounced /m?t'f?rm?n/, met-FAWR-min; originally sold as Glucophage) is an oral antidiabetic drug in the biguanide class. It is the first-line drug of choice for the treatment of type 2 diabetes, in particular, in overweight and obese people and those with normal kidney function.

Lower your blood sugar a few points, which can also be done with cinnamon capsules, in trade for respiratory & cardiovascular damage from smoking - which is bad for you regardless of the dried leaf used to roll.

I'll stick to the cinnamon.

Solution, e-Sig pot

Ever hear of allergies? Marijuana is a weed; it cross-reacts with other weed proteins and can cause anaphylaxis. Using a vaporizer does not insulate you from that and smoking is worse because of tars, particulates etc. Use mined phosphate fertilizers (from a mineral known as apatite) and you have similar Polonium-210 and other radionuclide exposure as with many tobaccos (Radium-226 in the phosphate decays into Lead-210 and Polonium-210.) If you're using either make sure it's organically grown without using apatite-based fertilizers.

Bottom line is its effects are not the panacea advocates like to portray and there are downsides, like it or not.

Another new article that should wake people up to the lies their government tells them...

All we hear these days are the new things pot has been found to help....It's amazing though how now people have been proven wrong about the paranoid schizophrenia increases in pot smokers they now cling to the "smoke causes damage to your lungs"....Smoking pot is only the tip of the iceberg...Eating it, making it to oil, Vaping it and even just smoking it occasionally all do far less damage to you than 80%-90% of all legal pharmaceuticals.

I'd rather ingest a natural plant than a pill with 100 ingredients that even a doctor would be lost trying to explain them all.... I smoke weed regularly and I haven't been Ill, sick or in pain at any point during....Also since smoking weed more i've dropped a total of 6 and a half stone in weight ( approx 40kg) through gym, diet and an increased well-being which allows me even on my worst day to still get up and sweat it out at the gym. It's made me happier, able to socialise easier, more confident and overall has improved my life a million %...I haven't been as healthy or happy in my 24 years on this planet(suicide attempts, family breakdowns and deep depression, until i started smoking).....

Now tell me i don't deserve to have the same quality of life as others just because mine includes a plant.

True, chromium supplements help also.

    • On xiaomi hyperos there's also an option to disable google assistant. I've got everything disabled. Only thing I do have installed is a web wrapped for duck.ai which claims to let you use various AIs anonymously
    • I need to understand the rationale of not shipping all of these K2 improvements in a single update/release. It's giving "we will fix Windows 11 but no commitments". It seems to me that they just announce these improvements just to appease the community.
    • The term "RTM" is long gone starting with Windows 10. Every current release is a GA build. This is the result of MS making Windows as a Service (WaaS).
    • Looks like no official TBW rating, which should be a required listing in my opinion for sites like Amazon (hell, put it on the box too.)
