Foolish

Oh yes because a child can't have it's own views on anything.

A 9 year old with these views? No. Or at least she can't be taken seriously, I won't. It's none of her business what I eat and when I eat it. If I wanted to eat more healthy I would but I don't want to, that's it.

I might be drunk right now, but as a kid I never really thought about food being bad or good for me... see the thing is as a kid I had no say in what I ate, it was put in front of me and I ate it or I was told to eat it.... I think what i'm trying to articulate is 21st century parents need to grow some balls

Very ageist. Are all Americans so selfish?

actually people have every right to be stupid... and to manage their own health how they see fit.

See above.

So very true! :)

Likewise as a kid I ate what's in front of me, parents in this century get nagged or our too lazy to cook your child being overweight for a non medical reason should not be within the freedom of a parent.

I'm not sure if you're trolling or just playing stupid. I'm not even American, what are you on about? And yes I am ageist, 9 year olds have no business talking about stuff like this, they are kids and should stay like that. Have a problem with that? Go complain to someone who cares.

I hate when people attack a business like this,if you don't want your child to eat it then don't let them,Mcdonalds is not forcing you to buy their product.

Why what are businesses doing for you? They exist to make profit not to make your life better its a minor side effect/consideration. Ever heard of advertising and social pressure?

of course children don't have the right to be taken seriously. They lack experience, they lack knowlege, and their brains aren't even at their full size or potential. I'm nearly 30 years old now and i look back when i was even 18, twice this kids age a legal adult, and i'm embarrassed by how woefully ignorant of the way the real world works back then. A nine year old has exactly ZERO credibility.

History will judge you. You lack experience and knowledge and your brain isn't at its full potential in comparison to a 60 year old. The way the real world works I'm 21 and I see how it works now why would my opinion change. Dear god you middle aged people are werid you sack off a major part of the human race as supid.

I'm not even 30 and you're calling me middle aged? You've got alot of the same arrogance i had at that age. You're so sure that you know everything. I've come to the conclusion that even with as much as i know now that there are many aspects of life that i'm completely ignorant on. We should ignore our children's opinions because they are informed by extremely limited experience and thoughts and opinions of adults who may or may-not have an agenda. These kids don't think for themselves. They think as they are told to think. There's no critical thinking that goes into it. Critical thinking is what is going on in this thread where we're able to pick apart this kid's opinion piece by piece and crticize it for being as laughable as it is. This is almost certainly not this kids own opinion. You couldn't sit this kid down next to a lean chicken breast and some chicken mcnuggets and have him explain which is healthier and why.

The very premise of this kid's comlaint accuses children of being stupid.

"Something that I don't think is fair is when big companies try to trick kids into eating food that isn't good for them by using toys and cartoon characters,"

suggests that kid's are so stupid that they can be convinced to trade their health for cheap plastic toys and cartoons.. which i totally agree with. Kids can be convinced of a lot of stupid things. That's why they have things called "parents" who are supposed to know better on the behalf of their children. If the parents are "being tricked" by toys and cartoons than society is ****ed beyond fixing.

Be it the childs view or the parents it doesnt make it any less valid a point and as for dont eat the product, much like any multinational they spend litteraly millions every year coaxing people to buy their product over others.Again much like any multinational food provider they will introduce a "green" or a "low calorie" or a "healthy" alternative but only because of peer pressure not through direct choice and again it provides a good company image for when the press or a ten year old girl, has you backed in the corner during live meetings.

yeah, how dare companies advertise their products and services. it's almost as if they want to stay in business. Shame on them.

Middle aged by my point of view but ill grant it was an underhand comment I withdraw it. Arrogance if so thank you. I speak my mind, know my mind, feel my mind, and speak my mind. Experience isn't everything, kids actually have brains and are capable of critical thinking. Ill take you up on that bet one day how much you gonna bet that I can't teach a child the different between a happy meal and real food? Typical "experienceism" being older doesn't have to make you wiser. I genuinely hope one day children have the vote. As for the premise well yes in a way it does, but the question you with your advanced comparative age should ask is why are Mc Donalds trying to trick kids in the first place. As for parents I hold them guilty as charged for being weak. Parents are being indirectly tricked. I hereby call for radical action BAN ALL CHILLDREN FROM FAST FOOD. Since parents can be too weak.

And re the conversation that went on while I was writing this YES SHAME ON THEM. Why how would you know what to eat or where to get it without advertising? Sarcasm btw.

I'm 29 and quite healthy. I eat McDonald's a few times a month because sometimes I just want to grab something quick and it tastes good. Anyone that suggests that we shut down McDonald's because if you eat nothing but McDonald's you'll get fat (a silly notion - I could easily eat nothing but McDonald's and lose weight at the same time) can get lost.

The only ones to blame for kids getting fat off McDonald's are the parents, plain and simple.

by banning all children from fast food you're saying that children ARE too dumb to make their own choices(which should invalidate your opinon that kids should get the vote) AND that parents are incapable of making correct choices for their children.

Which leads me to video games. They are filled with violence and sex. If you're to ban children from fast food and not allow parents to exercize their natural power of choice over their own children then is Jack Thompson correct on video games? Tell me, is there any government regulation that you didn't like? Is there any power of the individual that you don't hope to crush. Has their been any collectivist notion you haven't agreed with?

Ive nothing against companys turning a profit but I expect them to advertise with a tad of morals and not hide behind the issue that the vast majority of their menu is intentionally laced with fat and sugars to make it more palatable.

Let me be clear lady, ideally Id have children make the food decisions but Mc Doanlds MUST answer for its profit making targeted to children. It is odd one should say that since I am a Communitarian. Deal with the fact that people need regulation in their lives.

Communitarian prevails end profit making for selfish people and end the tyranny of advertising! Communitarianism prevails "Raises Fist to the sky"

Why make profit when you can make communities but im with you brother

You know I have just decided I withdraw ill my previous comments on this thread re fast food out of a crisis of conviction i.e. I just realised people live longer today eating Mc Donalds than people did in times without it. Communitarianism Prevails!

What is considered "community" is usually highly localized to neighborhoods or to specific subsections of a society. What you're asking for is an authoritarian government to make all decisions on behalf of the individual. It doesn't take a village to raise a child. It takes two good and dedicated parents.

Please see above. I see you know it was tired in Israel then? Where I live good lady I see failing parents every day. I rather a village raised some of them. Parents aren't always best Communitarianism Prevails!

Oh hell now i'm a laughing stock.... just realised you a GUY.

    • This is weird. Mythos is more unrestricted compared to Fable. Technically it poses more risk!!
    • This is a great thing, I always have issues with Verizon while inside of certain football stadiums due to the saturation and walls blocking signal so a LOS way to connect would be great. Verizon was supposed to be offering sat data this year but I've not heard a word of it lately. Dude is sending rockets into space in a cheap manner, low waste foot print and has a great product with solar/battery tech. We would be so far behind China right now if not for him and a push to get back into space.
    • illegally? Proof of that? Seems you are posting misinformation or well a pure straight up lie cause there is zero proof of such a thing. But I get it...
