The Most Insane Six Flags ride opens in Texas Today

Recommended Posts

The most insane and probably the most scariest ride opened today in Texas called "The Texas Skyscreamer". The Skycreamer is a extreme swing ride, it is 400ft tall and moves at 35mph.

This video needs more dubstep /s

But seriously, I don't know about everyone else, but it's one of these things I'd love to go on, but when it came to it I'd be like "f*** that!"

One part of me thinks that looks awesome. Another part of me things that's a tragedy waiting to happen. Still pretty cool though, but I doubt I'd ever get on it.

Those chains worry me! This ride is 400 feet up, moving 35mph, and there are only 3 chains apparently supporting the rider. I hope there is some other thing attached just in case. :|

A single one of those lengths of chain could probably support about a half ton of weight or more. It's not the same chain they use for your average swing set. ;)

It's not the weight limit of the chains, but a single defect in one of the links which could be a problem. You'd think there would be some type of braided steel cable run between the chain links and some type of rubberized coating around the chain links themselves. It seems VERY dangerous and a huge pinch factor for your hands/fingers. This is DEFINITELY not up to the quality standard you see at a theme park in Florida like at Universal/Islands of Adventure.

A braided steel cable per chain link would add tons to the weight it already has to carry.

    • never mind the video had a couple swear words... gosh it was funny!
    • It's expensive, but I bet it will still sell out just like the Steam Deck and the Steam Controller
    • This is listed as a preview in WU for me. I usually don't grab them as previews; what's your opinion on it so far?
