Xbox One beating PS4 in Amazon pre-orders ahead of E3

Recommended Posts

I have a PS3 and was going to get PS4 - but the fact they're the same price and the xbox comes with kinect.. I think that'll sway me

amazon's prices are placeholder prices, they are charging ?600 each, you can get the ps4 and xbox one for ?400 each at zavvi. There are rumours that the ps4 may come with the ps4 eye camera btw.

My only recommendation is to make sure you get a power bar or RF switch to hard power it down. Something about a camera that can see in all variety of lighting conditions with a high sensitivity built in microphone along with the unveiling of how far MS is up the NSA's ass is just too coincidental for me. Until some hacker can log some traffic from it, or better yet decrpyt the FS and see what MS is really up to, theres more than plentiful games on the 360 which is a fraction of cost.

more Micros**t propaganda. Hide yo kids, hide yo wallets - even if the xbone dont sell the media will report, especially the US & UK based media outlets, that its outselling everything ever released in history on a 10:1 scale. It'll be flying off shelves faster than tickle me elmos or furbys. They are even downvoting and spreading further propaganda on Reddit and other gaming sites.

Defensive much? Dude relax it's not that serious. You're not going to gain anythingior lose anything whichever of these companies come out on top. Just relax and enjoy whatever purchase you made.

you can only turn it off if you aren't playing games on the console.

Oh look Microsoft sponsoring Amazon E3 coverage:

I can sorta pre-order, in that I pay a 20 euro fee which means I am going to get a X1 on day 1, basically they put a hold on it for me and I'm on the list while those who don't pay to get on have to be quick to order on that day or they'll miss out.

Since I don't plan to buy it right away, maybe a few weeks later depends on the date though, I'm not going to pre-order.

yes, generally if you don't power stuff you can't use them. Im saying for those times. You have to power it on to use it, and sitting in front of it playing a game would be alright. For those times you aren't using it, it can just chill and not run my power bill up.

Right... and if the title of this thread was PS4 beating Xbox One in Amazon pre-orders youd be like "OMG, I knew it, its because of the always on and no used games allowed!!"

The point of the article/news just shows that not everyone is up in arms about all the rumors/facts of the next gen xbox. I am sure both consoles will sell extremely well regardless of any of these changes. Are some people going to skip the xbox even though they had a 360.. .yes, just how its going to be this generation.

Sony hasn't even unveiled the ps4 yet, thus how can it be being beat by the Xbox one?

because unveiling is not required to have pre-orders available. however, both consoles have been announced, its just the games (and what the ps4 actually looks like) that hasnt.

Its foolish to preorder something like a game console. The smart thing to do is to wait a few years to see which one is more popular among consumers, and to see which one has better quality and quantity of games. The poor Wii u has been thrown under the bus.

UK was Xbox land? When did this happen?

I'm getting a PS4. I still can't believe people will back Microsoft after all the bad stuff they've done > :(

So you think Microsoft will follow the publishers and Sony won't when it come to use game DRM? Yeah right..dream on... Sony will do the same thing.

foolish to preorder? wait a couple of years? ive seen a few of your posts and they usually dont make sense so I am just going to add this to the pile. majority of "gamers" preorder so they are guaranteed to have one at launch, both systems will have quality games, usually after the first year is when I buy the one i didnt get at launch. last gen I bought the 360 at launch, picked up my ps3 less then 6 months later. picked up the wii u at launch and well.. you know how that one goes. love the system and the few games I have for it.. but thats it.

don't worry, its going to be funny when the DRM news on ps4 finally hits them. its a unified experience on xbox one, where Microsoft made a system to sync licenses once a day, whereas on the ps4,its going to be one huge cluster**** free for all, with publishers having you register and managing all your games and licenses yourself with each of them. fun times ahead.

A majority of my posts are perfectly sensible and there's no need to make personal attacks for someone's opinion. New consoles always need to time settle in and mature. The first line up of games aren't always the greatest as the later ones are. After a few years, the price of a console drops a little. Its your choice to get a console right at launch.

yet your post prior to that said it was foolish. perfect example of your posts not making sense. If you choose to wait a year to purchase so be it, but to call another persons actions foolish is not "perfectly sensible".

Its your choice to be an early adopter or not. In my opinion, its better to wait to buy a new console, because over time, the price may drop , any kinks will worked out, more games will be released, and to see people's opinion/review of the console

I really hope it isn't unified on the PS4. I see nothing wrong with being able to reward publishers who don't see it as good business to **** over their customers.

As for people saying "It's just like Steam!" I say to them "So?" For years, some of the points console players have used as bullet points in their favor were "no DRM hassles" and the ability to lend and share games w/o any hoops to jump through along with rentals and a healthy secondary market. To all those willing to give that up: **** you.

I guess you mean you picked up the PS3 6 months after it's launch and not 6 months after you bought the 360 on launch day ? since the PS3 wasn't available 6 months after the 360 launch ;)

Consoles have had DRM for the last 15 years,

Has anyone even mentioned you cannot currently preorder the PS4 on Amazon????

And you can currently preorder the XBox One?

So OF COURSE it is beating it in preorders. One item cannot even be preordered yet.

What an absolute joke of reporting this is. Sincerely and truly.

Have you read the article? The numbers are from Amazon UK.

And yes, you can pre-order PS4 from Amazon UK: http://www.amazon.co.../dp/B00BE4HOIM/

    • This Dell 27 inch 4K 120Hz IPS monitor is really cheap after a very long time by Sayan Sen Recently we covered a really good deal on an AMD RX 9070 three-fan model that's available at slightly above its MSRP. If you are looking for a GPU for 1440p gaming that's around the performance of the Nvidia RTX 5070 you should most definitely check it out. Let's say that you are looking for a monitor to pair that up with too. The Samsung 49" G9 curved QD-OLED superultrawide is a good option that can provide an immersive experience. However despite being a very good deal currently (at $855), it may seem unaffordable to you, or you may simply not want to spend as much on a monitor. In that case Dell's S2725QS can be a very good option as it's on sale at the moment for its lowest price in over six months (purchase link under the specs table down below). The big highlight of the Dell S2725QS is its 27-inch IPS panel with a 3840 x 2160 (4K UHD) resolution, offering a high pixel density that can make text appear sharper while also providing plenty of screen space for productivity and media consumption. The display supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz through both HDMI and DisplayPort, making it suitable not only for everyday desktop use but also for smoother gaming and scrolling. AMD FreeSync Premium support is included as well, helping reduce screen tearing during gaming sessions. The screen has fairly good brightness and color accuracy so you can use it for general work purpose, though photo/video editing is probably not going to be the best match for this. The technical specs of the Dell S2725QS are given in the table below: Specification Value Viewable Screen Size 27 in (68.58 cm) Screen Mode 4K UHD Maximum Resolution 3840 × 2160 Maximum Preset Resolution 3840 × 2160 @ 120 Hz Standard Refresh Rate 120 Hz Panel Technology In-plane Switching (IPS) Backlight Technology LED Edgelight System Pixel Density 163 PPI Response Time 8 ms GTG, 5 ms GTG, 4 ms GTG Horizontal Viewing Angle 178° Vertical Viewing Angle 178° Brightness 350 cd/m² (nits) Native Contrast Ratio 1500:1 Color Support 1.07 Billion Colors Color Gamut 99% sRGB (CIE 1931) Adaptive Sync AMD FreeSync Premium HDCP Support Yes Mount Type Panel Mount VESA Mount 100 × 100 mm Maximum Height Adjustment 13 cm Tilt -5° to 21° Swivel -30° to 30° Pivot ±90° Stand Adjustments Tilt, Swivel, Height, Pivot Glass Hardness 3H Horizontal Frequency 27–270 kHz (DisplayPort 1.4 / HDMI 2.1) Vertical Frequency 48–120 Hz (DisplayPort 1.4 / HDMI 2.1) Video Inputs 2 × HDMI 2.1 (HDCP 1.4 & 2.3), 1 × DisplayPort 1.4 (HDCP 1.4 & 2.3) Operating Temperature 0°C to 40°C Storage Temperature -20°C to 60°C Operating Humidity 10%–80% (Non-condensing) Storage Humidity 5%–95% (Non-condensing) Get it at the link below: Dell S2725QS 27-inch 4K 120Hz IPS monitor: $218.49 (Sold and Shipped by Amazon US) (Was: $280) Good to know This Amazon deal is U.S. specific, and not available in other regions unless specified.
