In 1996, Clancy co-founded the video game developer Red Storm Entertainment and ever since he has had his name on several of Red Storm's most successful games. Red Storm was later bought by publisher Ubisoft Entertainment, which continues to use the Clancy name, though the extent of Clancy's actual involvement with creation of the games and development of intellectual properties, if any, is unclear.

I don't think Clancy has much to do with the games.  I could be wrong.

As I was watching the video, I was like WOW, that's some of the best voice acting i've ever heard. But then I was like ... Oh wait "Those people talking on their mics"

This is why you should play this with a group of friends. everyone can roleplay. lol.

On the flip side look how easy it is to have great voice acting in a game.

For sure, I thought it was voice acting first as well, I was like.. OMG NEXT GEN VOICE ACTING... this is incredible. But then I found out that it wasn't, I was a bit disappointed.

It still might be cool if the game puts a radio-like filter on your party communications in game though.

looks good, but so do many games that use the Tom Clancy brand, but always end up being rubbish games.

Hope this one does well, and comes to PC. Looks very cool.

The developer, Ubisoft Massive (formerly known as Massive Entertainment), made World in Conflict and World in Conflict: Soviet Assault (in 2007 and 2009, respectively). If they make a PC version, then it will be good.

I just watched a video on IGN (I know, I know) and the developers talked about how the game comes with a companion tablet app (possibly smart phone too) that lets you play anywhere. But, when you play through the mobile app you actually control an aerial drone, and it has its own progression trees and skills. It can shoot, debuff enemies, heal teammates, etc. And it's all real-time. That's actually pretty cool.

FYI, you can see such a drone in the video posted a few pages back. It's the one that highlights the rooftop enemy for the players on the ground. That was actually another dev playing as the drone from a tablet.

I know I said it's off my radar because of the always-online aspect, but I may just have to give it a chance.

Yeah the Companion feature was already introduced during the demo. I just hope it isn't a requirement for the game. I hope it is like an optional feature, which is still very cool.

How would it be a requirement ?

Say for an example, you want to scout ahead for enemies using maybe vents or something. It's an optional thing, or maybe you have to activate some switch where you character can't get into.. and you need something that small to go in.. I dunno. Just I guess.

I hope they put it on PC at launch alongwith consoles.

I'll be a sad panda if they didn't

Perhaps, they'll pull an Assassin's Creed 1 and release it for consoles first and then release the PC one 6 months later as a Director's Cut or something.

I can't wait to find out what the Xbox One exclusives are, and whether or not they will be timed. I'll take anything really, though I doubt very highly I'll be purchasing COD on next gen, I can appreciate that the XB1 version will have dedicated servers as one of its "exclusive features".

The Division May be Delayed to 2015

An anonymous source has claimed work on the game world has barely begun.

by Luke Karmali

January 7, 2014

The Division may be delayed until 2015 according to an anonymous source from Ubisoft Massive.

Speaking to GameReactor, the source claimed that while the recently-demonstrated Snowdrop Engine that powers the game is close to completion, only a sliver of the actual world has been built.

"The game engine works well, it's not done, but works well. The actual game development has barely started, however," said the anonymous insider.

"The fact that Ubisoft has gone public with a 2014 release date feels laughable to be perfectly honest, we will never be able to release The Division this year. It's a large project, and we have very far to go."

While unconfirmed, it's certainly possible that the title may have slipped to 2015 considering the fate that's befallen other Ubisoft titles. Last year, the publisher said that upcoming racer The Crew would release in the first quarter of 2014, with The Division following towards the end of the year. Since then though, a number of setbacks have occured.

Firstly, Watch Dogs was delayed to the first part of 2014, then The Crew was pushed back to the second quarter of the year. While we still don't have a solid release date for The Crew, it would make sense for Ubisoft to want to leave a bit of a gap between launching its titles. This means that the earliest we could see The Division would be the tail end of the year or, as the source suggests, maybe not before 2015, especially as the PC version is planned to be far more than a simple port.

We reached out to Ubisoft for comment but were told the publisher doesn't comment on rumour and speculation. For the time being the rumour is unsubstantiated, but it's definitely not outside the realms of possibility.

Very disappointing if true. This is my most anticipated game along with Watch_Dogs :(

    • Windoze 11 could finally go to hell, instead of making me savor yet another error I've never had. "Bad Pool Caller" or whatever TF cryptic crap0la message it is. Adding salt to injury, it says something along these lines (on the blank black screen after it hard stops): "Your windoze needs to restart. You can restart." NO WAY SHERLOCK. The PEECEE, look, it's *blocked*, I can do jack sh1t with it as it is and you say that it needs to restart? Further, that I can restart? What am I supposed to do, take a herbal bath? Sudo a sandwich? Timewaster pile of useless slop and errors, coded by monkeys and force-fed on us by a pedo-founded corporation, that's all there is to it. Now, let's have a fun weekend trying to handle the error, which after a quick internet check can basically be due to EVERYTHING, from memory faults to drivers to motherboard issues. Thanks M$.

It emphasizes privacy by blocking trackers, ads, and ensuring your data isn't collected. With Zen Mods, users can enhance their browser experience with various customization options, including features like split views and vertical tabs. The browser is designed for efficiency, providing fast browsing speeds and a lightweight interface. Zen Browser prioritizes user control over the browsing experience, offering a minimal yet powerful alternative to traditional web browsers while keeping your online activity private. Zen Browser’s DRM limitation Zen Browser currently lacks support for DRM-protected content, meaning streaming services like Netflix and HBO Max are inaccessible. This is due to the absence of a Widevine license, which requires significant costs and is financially unfeasible for the developer. Additionally, applying for this license would require Zen to be part of a larger company, similar to Mozilla or Brave. Therefore, DRM-protected media won't be supported in Zen Browser for the foreseeable future. Zen Browser offers features that improve user experience, privacy, and customization: Privacy-Focused: Blocks trackers and minimizes data collection. Automatic Updates: Keeps the browser updated with security patches. Zen Mods: Customizable themes and layouts. Workspaces: Organize tabs into different workspaces. Compact Mode: Maximizes screen space by minimizing UI elements. Zen Glance: Quick website previews. Split Views: View multiple tabs in the same window. Sidebar: Access bookmarks and tools quickly. Vertical Tabs: Manage tabs vertically. Container Tabs: Separate browsing sessions. Fast Profile Switcher: Switch between profiles easily. Tab Folders: Organize tabs into folders. Customizable UI: Personalize browser interface. Security Features: Inherits Firefox’s robust security. Fast Performance: Lightweight and optimized for speed. Zen Mods Customization: Deep customization with mods. Quick Access: Easy access to favorite websites. Open Source: Built on Mozilla Firefox with community collaboration. Community-Driven: Active development and feedback from users. GitHub Repository: Contribute and review the source code. Zen Browser 1.21.3b changelog: New Features Updated to Firefox 152.0.1 Fixes Fixed transparency not working after updating to 1.21.2b (#14259) Fixed frequent crashes affecting users with Intel Raptor Lake processors Fixed an issue on macOS where choosing a PDF option, such as "Save as PDF", from the system print dialog would send the job to your printer instead of saving a file. • Microsoft, why can't I just turn off Copilot on my MS account (in order to stop OneDrive from wanting to summarize everything, ahem) in a way that doesn't break OneNote instead?
